How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The one thing I didn't like is that the bathroom is very small and that was an issue because I get a bit claustrophobic.
Loved the location of the property. Clean and spacious. Big balcony. Helped us store our luggage after check out. Host very friendly and approachable.

The apartment is in a perfect location, just walking distance to the metro,the street food restaurants excellent food cuisine, excellent atmosphere area,a short walk away to traditional soldiers marching in front of the presidential palace,acropolis and the Museum, all the other temples and Olympic stadium you can walk a round loop and reach Monastiraki ,Plaka and Ermou, we did after we picked up area map from the tourist information centre and had no trouble in getting around , would recommend Ermou Athens city centre Apartment it was clean, comfortable with a spacious balcony, the host was good to meet us and show us in and so was our transfer from the airport, thank you for for our stay

Lift not working on last morning so had to carry luggage down five flights of stairs - not great for 70+ year olds!
Great location, pleasant apartment with large balcony which, in warmer weather, would be a relaxing space. Giannis very helpful & arranged lovely taxi driver to take us back to the airport.

The room was not ready when we arrived, we had to wait to get in (the owner sent cleaning crews and they had a key). The room was a mess and we had to wait for it to be cleaned up; also, someone had turned off the water heater (it was off on the electrical panel) and we only had cold water. We stayed in the hotel for two nights and had to take cold showers on the second day. I didn't realize this until the third day of our stay, (didn't realize it was turned off on the switchboard). Also no one came the next day to clean the room or make the bed...... There was a kettle and coffee maker in the room, but no complimentary coffee or tea. I contacted the owner and was promised this would be taken care of, but it seems to be done for the next visitors.....
We loved the room, very modern, and great location - everything in the historic center was within walking distance, lots of restaurants, and cafes, there is a grocery store in the back of the building, unfortunately we noticed it on the last day.

The apartment is fantastic and in a great location. Spotlessly clean with everything you need. Walking distance to all the main attractions. Right in the heart of the city. Surrounded by bars, shops & restaurants.

Very clean and comfortable for a couple. Great hot water system! Bed is comfortable and apartment is clean.
Location is excellent with very nice restaurants and coffee shops near by. Also easy access to all the sites to see in Athens!

There is nothing to complain about it.
Nice clean apartment very central. The host left us coffee pods, water and orange juice in in the fridge which was a nice touch. I will return anytime.

Bathroom area was a little small, but manageable. Would have liked a full mirror.
Location was excellent! Balcony was spacious & comfortable. All facilities were in good working order especially the air-conditioner and free wi-fi coverage was above standard. Cooking facilities were available, if required.
