Stayed at The Crown Hotel for a mini cycling break of Exmoor. I have stayed at many Hotels and this ranks as one of the best. Exceptional staff, very clean spacious room, lovely restaurant with fresh well cooked food. Breakfast was a delight. Thanks to everyone at the Hotel for such a wonderful experience which made the weekend exploring the beautiful, but brutal cycling climbs, such a delight. I will be returning next year to once again test my Body against those top 100 cycling climbs on your doorstep. 🚴♂️👍👏

Withypool
Superb. We loved this place. More like an apartment and so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Very private and so quiet. Spotless, comfy bed and a great breakfast. We had all the cereals, fruits etc and paid the extra for a cooked breakfast. Well worth the money and huge. The location is beautiful and is perfect for walking and exploring Exmoor. Mop was very welcoming, had a great knowledge of the area and went above the call of duty. Will be returning. Great value for the money.
Exford
I wish, I could have stayed longer in this lovely bed and breakfast. The historical estate, which is renovated with a lot of love for details, is telling stories. The big and comfy rooms and the blooming garden and the terrace, overlooking it, are fantasic. Breakfast tasted like in a star kitchen. Parking is easy. A short walk away along the Exe-river is the Crown Hotel Exmoor, which is a terrific and cosy place for the evening with excellent food and nice people!
Fabulous hotel in a beautiful Exmoor setting - easy reach of the beach and amazing walks. The menus (breakfast, lunch & evening) are great with an excellent choice of beers & wines. The staff are superb and very pet friendly - we stayed with two cocker spaniels - both of whom now clearly understand the phrase 'would they like sausages?' - emphatic 'yes'. Resident access to the 'secret garden' and into the NT grounds is wonderful.
Lynmouth
A wonderful location on the main road into Lynmouth with open land to walk our dog behind the church opposite (views to die for!). Great area for walkers on the edge of Exmoor and the Inn was comfortable and popular (full during our stay). Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant was busy during the evening which is always a good sign of quality and value. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay as did our dog Flora!
Great welcome from the owners, lovely room in a magnificent house, super breakfast. Bossington Hall Hotel is in a wonderful location overlooking Porlock marshes in this unspoilt part of Exmoor. The room had amazing views, particularly at sunset. The whole area is extremely quiet, so just perfect for relaxing in peaceful surroundings. It's a gem and we wished that we had found it earlier when doing the SWCP.
Beautiful hotel. Stayed for New Year's Eve. Owners/staff were warm and friendly. Great breakfast with lots of choice with good quality local produce. Stunning views from the room I stayed in of the sea, village and hills. Little touches added to the nostalgia of the romance of Exmoor as written in the novel Lorna Doone.
Dunster
. Exmoor House exceeded our expectations, it's decor is fabulous, very clean and beautifully decorated. Our hosts Jane and James are wonderful , they are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. This is the best guest house we have ever stayed in ,it rivals many first class hotels.
This hotel is in a beautiful village in the centre of Exmoor. The clientele are a mix of locals and visitors, so it has a genuine warm feel. The food is very good, especially the breakfast. We very much enjoyed the stay. It is well placed for day trips and close to stunning beaches
The breakfasts were AMAZING! The staff are all so friendly and just lovely. The food in the bar/restaurant was really good. We had such a great experience that I'd recommend this hotel to everyone that wanted a good base for North Devon and Exmoor National Park.
Porlock
Perfectly located and equipped .studio apartment with amenable host .Extremely dog friendly and Porlock itself is excellent for lots of walks straight from the doorstep as well as touring Exmoor .We've stayed here before and would stay again .
Withypool
A lovely room - more like a small apartment - in a perfect location in a quiet Exmoor village. We had a warm and friendly welcome from Mop, a very comfy bed, and a spotlessly clean room and bathroom, along with an excellent cooked breakfast!
A stylish Victorian hotel, in a great location for hiking Exmoor and conveniently located for bus connections to Barnstaple Railway station. Friendly and welcoming staff, with a great breakfast and good value for money.
Great location for exploring Exmoor. The staff were very good and the hotel was warm and comfortable. It was particularly helpful having a thermostat in the room allowing us to control the temperature effectively.
It is a very welcoming, family run pub/restaurant/hotel in a really quiet village in the heart of Exmoor. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly.
