Seems like Zakopane has forgotten who pays their bills, and tourists will come anyway. Even bus drivers try to mess around with tourists. Three times they told me to get off at the wrong bus stop (too early), in one case causing me to miss the train, in another laughing because I had to walk 1km extra. Next, people are trying to take advantage of you wherever they can, charging little extra, "forgetting" to give you change, steering you into expensive options etc. Keep that in mind. If you can overlook unfriendly locals, the mountains are beautiful and hiking is great.

Very nice mountains town with many hotels and many tourists attractions. But is better go the outseason. 29.4. and 30.4. was great, because around 23C and sunny, clear. No wind, that was optimal weather to visit in working day, the next days from 1.5. it will be too many tourists there. Best place to see Tatry mountains, go walk or linear train to Gubałówka (better buy ticket advance online).
