Füssen was a great place to base ourselves for a few days, not only is it close to 3 great castles but it is the start of the romantic road so we got to see the major attractions along the most picturesque roads.

Nice city with historic city center. Close to castles, Zugspitrze, Lindau or Vaduz for day trip. Reptile ZOO at city is greaat for kids. Nice waterfall on Lech river. 1,5 hour walk from castles to Fussen.

Really beautiful little town.
Really beautiful little town. Lots of interesting shops, great restaurants and very tempting pastries. The town is overlooked by the Alps affording spectacular views but there are also riverside walks and quaint streets to explore plus a Franciscan monastery and a castle. Plus Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles are a short bus ride or taxi ride away.

Wonderful, peaceful little town, perfect for those who love...
Wonderful, peaceful little town, perfect for those who love hiking and nature. There is an awesome reptile zoo nearby too, worth seeing. The people smile and say "hello" to strangers on the street and everyone decorates their houses almost as if it's some contest to make their property cutest. It's beautiful, at the foot of the mountains. The downtown area is quaint and offers a wide array of shopping options that range from inexpensive to custom/higher end items. Many eateries and bakeries to choose from, with cuisine from all over the world. The town is not large, but has every feature we wanted. The local parks are amazing if you're traveling with kids! They had scooter paths, basketball, bike tracks, everything! The hiking trailheads can be found within walking distance from town and are lovely. Make sure you receive a "Fussen Card" with your accommodation. Allow a full day to do the castles and make sure you are there for the morning (8 am )tickets so you can beat the bus loads of other tourists. Food from restaurants is expensive and parking for the day is 10 euro. Catch the bus for 3 euro and save your legs.Steven BarnesAustralia

Our train had reached late at the station and the last bus had left. Luckily, upon messaging the property through the booking.com app we were able to check-in safely. Nonetheless, the location was perfect to explore, and the last day departure was a breeze, easily walked up to the Füssen train station behind the hotel. Just to think we were sleeping in such a well kept 700year old well kept piece of history was lovely for our family. The owners were very nice and polite. The kitchen was well equipped and the fireplace was just beautiful.
