The owner sent messages and met with us and kindly told us where it is and what to do. There were local coffee for us to taste and interesting local travel books to read. She mentioned about the potential noise from the local Coqui frogs, but it didn't bother us and it sounded beautiful. She provided extra heaters for the room and the bed which was so convenient. We washed all dishes before leaving in the morning to show our respect.

Fantastic rooms, cosy, comfortable (very comfortable bed) and done with exceptional esprit. A unique experience. We actually looked forward to be back in the room after we finished our hiking tours.

We arrived after sunset and therefore could not assess the full scope of the property at arrival, but just arrived at our cozy cabin and could chill out in the outside Japanese tub, then fall asleep to the sound of the wildlife sounds. When we got up in the morning, we were greeted by a full blown rainforest. While I knew from pictures what it could look like, the real thing was more than stunning and a great experience.

Amazing little boutique hotel in the rain forest. It was quaint but well cared for. Great option to allow you to spend a full day exploring Volcanoes National Park and then have an early start on the drive to Kona (so you can stop for lots of adventures along the way). We loved our stay.

Absolutely adorable cabin in a serene setting. The owners were very easy to communicate with, everything worked great. Great base to explore the Volcano NP region!

The green, beautiful lush forest-like atmosphere in Volcano was so breathtaking! It was peaceful and quiet (except at night) you could hear the little frogs (koki frogs) nonstop but you eventually rest and they fade as you get closer to sleep.
Even driving feels awesome!

The park was very crowded around dusk.
The park was very crowded around dusk. There were lots of cars and few places to park. It might not be that way if the volcano had not been erupting. Because of previous eruptions, part of the rim road was blocked making fewer places to actually view the caldera. Make a reservation at one of the 2 restaurants at the Volcano House for dinner around sunset for the best views. Take a sweater or sweatshirt. The wind was chilly in June. We ate at the Rim restaurant. The food was very good. Expect to pay over $35 per person without cocktails. We were dressed for a nice restaurant and were disappointed that so many people were so very casual. But, it is vacation and Hawaii.

The volcano itself was absolutely incredible.
The volcano itself was absolutely incredible. Doesn't matter how old you are, it's just one of those things that fascinates and draws you in. Must see for anyone who has the opportunity since you never know when it will shut down.

Volcano National Park is amazing!
Volcano National Park is amazing! I would plan to spend at least a day and a half there if you are visiting Big Island. There is so much to do - the highlights include hiking across a crater and visiting during the dark (after sunset or before sunrise) to see the eruption!

Although our accommodation here was nothing amazing, the location cannot be left out of your big island itinerary! I wish someone had have told us to visit the National Park after sunset (or at sunrise) before our final day here!! That would be my top tip to people staying in this area. It would have been great to see the glowing lava.

Got to see the crater smoking with hot lava, but the weather was cool and misty/foggy, so no "orange glow." The place was packed with tourists, even so. Parking lots overflowed. We enjoyed most the early morning (6am) walk to the eruption site: very few people. Many nene sitings. The Volcano House restaurant has a less-expensive sister, the Rim restaurant, right next door. Good food, great views, but like everywhere on the Island, trés expensive. Next time I would bring more money!
Perfect little house with everything we needed. Hot tub was a bonus. I was happy that there was a description that the road leading into the property looks like you’re driving into the jungle but once we arrived, everything was so beautiful. I felt like we were in a hidden little house in the middle of the rainforest. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to use Wi-Fi and watch TV. The wireless speaker and all of the Hawaii books kept us busy and entertained.
Breakfast was great- in room pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, granola, fruit, juice, coffee, etc.
Location was excellent for visiting Volcanoes National Park, and also only a short drive to the town for restaurants.
Hostess was very helpful with suggestions for places to eat, etc.
Spotlessly clean.
Bed was large and comfortable.
Neighborhood was quiet and safe.
House and yard were very well kept.
The location is excellent - near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and very close to Volcano Village where there are various restaurants. The hosts were very friendly. There was a microwave, coffee maker, and small refrigerator.
Breakfast was continental and consisted of juice, fruit, yogurt, and coffee. They also provided some instant oatmeal, granola bars, and ramen noodles.
My husband and I enjoyed our room, the property, the staff and the morning breakfast. Our room was slightly larger than a hotel studio and was all that we needed. The staff was helpful in booking us a dinner reservation nearby. We would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Volcano!
The location was beautiful. It was very close to Volcano National Park. The cottage was great. The bed was comfortable. The hosts were very nice. They even provided ear plugs in case you didn't want to hear the Coquí frogs. The cottage was a wonderful value.
quaint cottage accommodation with pleasant host; good location for Volcano National Park; good pancake, fruit and coffee breakfast; we arrived early and were able to leave our cases in our room while we visited the park.
Awesome location, perfect for exploring volcanos national park, hilo and other eastern parts of the island. The house itself is surrounded by lush green trees and gives a sense of living in the middle of a rainforest.
Loved the artsy house and beautiful yard, made it feel like a real home with Hawaiian decor. Beds were comfortable and location to the national park was optimal. Advance communications were very helpful.
The room was great; loved the atmosphere and comfort. Also, the Thai restaurant right down the street was exceptional. The proximity to Volcanoes National Park was also great. I would stay there again.
Clean and spacious with amenities. Quiet street close to volcano National Park. Renters let us know what was available as far as food and shopping on the area. Gave a list of "must see" places
Great location close to volcanoes with lovely room with delish breakfast. Beds were very comfy and hosts communicative and gave us options ahead of our arrival. Definitely would stay again!
The corner window to the view of the rainforest was great! The room itself felt very secluded and private. The location was very ideal for getting to the volcano national park.
Good location, comfortable room, friendly innkeepers, and excellent breakfast! It's several minutes' drive to volcano national park. The breakfast was wonderful!
In a lush green setting, this rustic spot is great for anyone wanting to soak up the natural beauty of Volcano. Spacious , easy and plenty of amenities.
