We enjoyed our visit to Barstow very much.
We enjoyed our visit to Barstow very much. Exciting to drive a short section of the famous Route 66. The highlight of our visit was the historic Harvey House, which has an amazing and interesting story related to Fred Harvey, who came up with the idea of providing quality places for train-riders to stay and eat beginning in the late 1800’s. This Harvey House is home to three must-see museums/centers: Route 66 Mother Road Museum, Western America Railroad Museum, and NASA Goldstone Deep Space Visitors Center. All are free of charge, but welcome donations. Visiting hours are shorter and some are weekends only. So check before going. A bonus activity is watching the trains passing by, which happens multiple times in an hour.

Barstow was a great stopover for us after having flown to LA from Australia, en route to Las Vegas. It was a pleasant town, easy to walk around, safe, and had a great Route 66 museum for car enthusiasts.
Panda Express was a great takeaway option for a meal.

We were travelling from the Pacific Grove area back to Phoenix. Going thru Barstow was GREAT. Missed all that BS Los Angeles traffic! And the expressways were in decent shape and not too busy! If I ever go back to the SF area I'll use the Barstow route. Stayed at the Quality Inn (a surprisingly good experience.)

The city is full of beautifull wall paintings and things that remind you the historic root 66. Everything was like stuck in the past that gave you the feeling of diving into the history of the city. On the other hand, the city seemed a little abandomed. People walking around were not the friendliest looking I have ever seen...
The place was great for our Route 66 road trip..... friendly staff all round...from checking in to the cleaners....the guy behind the bar was terrific...... nice clean pool..... nice garden area...... we ate at the hotel at night.....the steaks were great.....one ofthe best places we stopped in our 3 week trip..... breakfast was lovely.....well done staff.
The managers are great, they went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was excellent with a nice choice of eggs, waffles etc (unlike many hotels still using Covid as an excuse for only doing grab & go breakfasts!) The pool is nice for a cool off on a hot day - I'm happy to recommend this motel
Room was very clean. Bed was comfy. AC worked very well. Location was great - easy on and off the freeway. Location was across the street from Barstow Station which has multi-vendors for food from MacDonalds to Subway to Panda Express, etc. as well as some general souvenir stores. Gas Station next door to gas up before leaving.
Room was lovely, comfy & clean with plenty of room.
Amenities around hotel fantasic, restaurants & shopping outlet.
Check in was quick & simple even though we were early.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious with so much variety, waffle making was so much fun.
Decor around the hotel was warm and inviting.
If you are looking for an affordable hotel in Barstow, this is definitely a good value for the money. The things I liked: Very good heater as it gets very cold in the winter, and a decent sized refrigerator for food. A functional microwave and the bed was comfortable.
The rooms were clean and the staff has been amazing to us! We had a car break down and found ourselves temporarily stranded in Barstow. We were lucky to find this place, which is affordable, clean, and comfortable, with incredibly accommodating and helpful staff.
Great room close to the main road - stayed one night on the way to Grand Canyon West. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Room was large and comfortable. Staff very friendly. We stayed at Easter and the hotel lobby and dining area were decorated.
The owners were very sweet and the rooms were very clean and looked recently upgraded. For being one of many on a strip of hotels that all look the same, the staff and room made it above the rest. Breakfast eggs were cooked to order!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This included the front desk and housekeeping staff.
The breakfast offering was also very good and offered a lot of choices.
The hotel was very quiet which we really appreciated.
In a major transport hub (especially large trucks) with lots of mediocre and bad hotels, this hotel stands out for quiet rooms, well designed with kitchenettes, comfortable beds, very friendly staff, and a good breakfast.
Very clean and the room was spacious with a balcony onto the swimming pool. Ample parking. Breakfast included and it was as expected for this class of hotel.
Wonderful!! The owners are the nicest people, the hotel is theme-decorated for Route 66, the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. 12/10 highly recommend
