Kissamos is an excellent home base for trips to Balos and also for Elafonisi, much closer than Chania. There are also many restaurants along the beach in walking distance. We didn't swim there but it is possible. You might consider Falasarno for a few days for a beautiful beach with surf!

It’s a small town but we could enjoy walking along the beautiful beaches. There are some supermarkets so that we could get fresh vegetables and also fresh fish which were really tasty. There are a lot of buses and they are usually very on time. We could make our schedule smoothly and everything went super!

The place is very quiet and relaxing, especially during the dusk & the night where you can have your dinner in the big balcony & view all the stars in the sky, after a full day at the nearby beaches. Is a perfect location to visit west Crete, 15-20 min from the amazing Falassarna beach and 20 min from the parking place of the famous Balos beach. Also, it is less than 60 min to visit the unique Elafonisi beach. I would definitely choose this villa again in my next visit to west Crete!

A long beach is next to the apartments. Mandy Suites also have restaurant by the sea and the food there is absolutely amazing. The owner of Mandy Suites is one amazing lady and her staff is incredible professional. Just 3 km away are the boats to Balos, one of the most beautiful beach in world. And the town Kissamos is not crowded with tourist as the other parts of Crete.

Dimitria who prepared a delicious breakfast for us was the kindest person we met in Crete. The room has everything you need also to prepare some simple meals. There are many beaches around this area and traditional restaurants so you won't be bored. Don't go to the big resort hotels, just try something different in Maria Villas and you will not regret it.

It's near Kissamos, but in the country, near two very good local restaurants for typical food. We ended up in a greek baptism party. Very nice! Very quiet during the night. It's ideal to visit all the western part of Crete and near the besutiful Falasarna beach. Also, air conditioning and laundry. We stayed 5 days and we got both the towels and the bed sheets changed.
