The Stanneylands, hotel in Wilmslow

In Cheshire’s countryside, the AA 4-star The Stanneylands has two dining venues, The Tap & Pantry and The Grill Room.

The staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly. We were attending a wedding and arrived before our room check in time. However within 5 minutes of our arrival we were able to check into our room. We also wanted food from the restaurant as soon as it opened at 12 noon so we had time to get to the wedding. Again the staff were able to arrange this. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the room was light and airy.

Room was fine - clean and comfortable - a little dated, but that was fine. Pleased the emailed me to say there was a party that night - but that didn't affect me and was quiet by 2330. Breakfast was pretty good.

On arrival I had twin room booked , stated on app that we would arrive following day between 00:00 to 1:00. Hotel gave our room away and offered a double bed to us. This was not appropriate as and left me furious. Have since contacted hotel with no response. They made no effort on the night to sort situation. I paid for a twin room and expected to receive it on arrival. Instead I ended up sleeping on floor and believe I should be compensated for such a poor experience. I would expect the hotel make some effort to at least reimburse half the fair of the room as a result. To say I’m furious is an understatement

Nice town with some very good restaurants - we recommend Eastern Revived restaurant which gets very busy so advise to book. Excellent train link into central Manchester - the duo ticket was just £12.30 return for the two of us.

The location is ok to travel to Manchester airport.

The location is ok to travel to Manchester airport. WiFi and use of the pool were both extra charges. We would not stay again if were traveling to the UK and Manchester airport. The hotel is dated and needs a clean up around the rooms and outside was dirty looking. Some of the carpark was closed off so the taxis were having to turn around and squeeze back out the way they came in with the other the traffic..?🙄 The location of the bar right next to the reception area wasn't the best, for eating and drinking while the doors kept opening and closing..

Been through this answer before did not really have any opinion because of the short stay but what I saw was not. Impressive. I should start by stating it did have a lift but rest of Hotel left Much to be desired was old and needed. A facelift, neesa couple of vending machines which do not eat your money. . Pillows too small beds not too comfortable. My view was not good.. Overall. The best thing about the stay was the English breakfast in the morning. Staff was helpful but the lobby Had limited vending machines which ate my money. The other option was the bar and it was only open for short hours during the day to sell sweets etc. would suggest a small store near check in to handle candy and perhaps some soft drinks . facility seemed dated and could use a good face lift. .Location not the most. Ideal for airport acces

Our waitress was brilliant, on the go constantly, she had to be, she was the only one on duty! The food was ok, the beer was unimaginative It really got up my nose that I had to pay overnight parking, in a very narrow bay! The whole hotel seemed a bit run-down, but there will be no improvement, I’d imagine, as guests are only after a bed for the night before a flight. I left it to the last minute to book due to a weather change, I’ll book (elsewhere) earlier next time.

Nice farmhouse, close to the airport and with lovely breakfast. We stayed there only one night but the owners let me work remotely in a room close to the kitchen after the check-out. Very kind of them! Only annoyance was a lady next to our room who checked-in at 2am and woke us up talking loudly and slamming the door - the walls are quite thin, I think, or she was simply acting disrespectfully. Except this episode, it was a good value for money.

Nice renovated ex farmhouse close to Manchester airport but away from the hustle and bustle. tastefully decorated decent size rooms. You can park your car for a fiver/day when you are not staying in the hotel. it’s a B&B but a nice country pub “The Honey Bee” 3min walk away. taxi to airport £18. Missed breakfast due to not taking any chances with Manchester airport! No staff in the evening so find at all you need in advance.

It's very well located for central Wilmslow, the bed was comfortable, the shower had good pressure, the free WiFi is sufficient to do work, and the hotel is good value. It's priced right. It does the job when you're out and about in Wilmslow and want to stay over. I've stayed before and will stay again.

We arrived at 10 pm Manchester airport on a Sunday night and wanted somewhere nearby where we could check in up till 23.30 in case of delays. This hotel fired the bill perfectly. Good room and facilities, helpful staff, we could get a drink and had a good breakfast.

Very large rooms, very polite staff be warned that the spa you do need to pay for as not part of hotel but 10 quid for 2 adults and 1 child wasn't bad for 1 night but Internet in room also needed paying for which wasn't happy with.

As a host Eileen was lovely. The property is clean, warm and inviting. It is located in a quiet location on the edge of Wilmslow, close to beautiful open country yet also only a 15-20 minute walk from the town centre.

The closeness of the lodge to the town center make it excellent. The room including the bed was neat. The table and chairs in the room made the hotel a suitable place to stay for people travelling for work.

Not much. “Spa” is misleading. There weren’t any spa facilities. Rooms were stark and aged, reminiscent of an old Motel 6. It was clean, though.
