I wanted to explore the area for a couple of days and this location was perfect. The flat was clean, very well presented, welcome basket on arrival. Good wifi, lovely views, parking right opposite. 2 pubs in walking distance (a 3rd is being refurbished). Had dinner in the Rose & Crown, very nice, they don't open all day but the steaks were delicious. Also visited the Anchor Inn, by the Abbey, they are open all day and had a full menu. The apartment was spotless, it isn't the biggest property so whilst it has 2 bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living room, it would be on the small side for a family if they were spending time indoors.

Plenty to do, walking in the hills, along the river Wye,, a Wire Mill walk, Tintern Abbey, Tintern Old Railway Station, and the old Water Mill. There is also a pub, ice cream shop, cafe and a local brewery to visit.

A beautiful little town with plenty to explore!
A beautiful little town with plenty to explore! Tintern Abby was the main attraction I wanted to see. It was brilliant and I would have liked to see a bit more than I did. Definitely will book another trip sometime and give myself at least two days to explore the area and its history properly.

Lovely location in Wye valley.
Lovely location in Wye valley. Tintern Abbey well worth a visit (just a pity most of the church isn't accessible at the moment due to conservation work). Pleasant, though steep walk to Devil's Pulpit and Offa's Dyke. Lovely short walk to Old Tintern Railway Station and this is definitely worth a visit.

Many places to eat and drink, such as tea rooms and pubs/ Hotels.
2 venues we used all provided healthy superb tasting food.
We ate in the Tintern Station tea rooms which was a lovely place to eat with history to read about on the old Tintern railway station. Would recommend this tea room.
Wonderful and incredibly helpful people. Delicious food. Beautiful location. Comfortable and clean and finally felt like I was able to fully relax.
The hotel has an entire binder full of hikes you can take in the general location. Even if you’re just there to relax or find yourself unable to take advantage of the wonderful scenery for some reason, this hotel is such a great place to stay. Great food and people happy to help with anything you may be having trouble with. I will remember this place fondly for years to come.
The location was incredible! The photos do not do it justice. 2 minute drive to Tintern Abbey and a lovely pub with a park and field for the kids to play in.
All instructions were left for appliances and general things including what to do in the local area.
Use of towels, bedding, cleaning products and even cutlery & crockery were perfect and made everything so much easier. It was definitely a home from home and we will be back again.
The location of the flat is overlooking the river wye which was delightful. It is placed in the in the village of Tintern which is a beautiful village and walks around the village and beyond are accessible from the flat, which we really enjoyed. The hosts left lots of notes and instructions so we didn't need any additional help during the stay. The flat was well equipped - we cooked Christmas dinner in the flat, which was trouble-free.
We booked this room by pure chance since we were staying nearby but our hotel didn't have availability for the Saturday. The village of Tintern is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The b&b was very quirky, and the rooms were decorated with so much attention to detail. The owner was a very nice lady who was super welcoming. She recommended a restaurant the wild hare where we had a fantastic meal.
We stayed in a room with a super size bed which was very comfortable and the shower was perfect with lots of hot water. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious, as was the breakfast. There was a coffee shop in the hotel which was very welcome after a long journey. Tintern is a lovely little village with the attraction of the famous Abbey. It was our half way stop for our holiday in Pembrokeshire.
The beautifully renovated twin (double+single) room was exactly what we needed at the end of a long day's walking the Offa's Dyke Path, which passes about a mile from the hotel. The dinner was excellent too, and the service was fantastic - despite it being a busy Saturday evening, the staff were always attentive and really friendly. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding as well.
The location in Tintern is very pretty with the River Wye just a few yards away. The food was exceptional and the options for vegetarians were delicious (the roasted celeriac starter was gorgeous!). Marta is a delightful and attentive host and nothing is too much trouble. The guesthouse is an attractive building which is spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable.
Shepherds Delight is an amazing, well designed shepherds hut in beautiful surroundings with everything needed to make your stay perfect. The location is great for breathtaking walks and not too far to walk for Tintern Abbey. A gorgeous log burner is perfect for those chilly evenings with plenty of wood, or there's an outdoor firepit for those long summer evenings.
Beautiful view over the river. Good facilities, everything you could want in an apartment. Comfy and cosy. Great pub very near just along the road to the left, plus a little village shop. Plenty of walks to enjoy and a couple of choices of where to eat at the end of each day. Easy to find and park thanks to clear directions from hosts. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic place to stay in a fantastic little village. Loved the homestyle hospitality but still had our own space in the upstairs bedroom. Great pub across the road too and nice walks along the river and village. Meals cooked by the hosts were amazing - highly recommend eating dinner there! Super friendly hosts. Free onsite parking out the back.
Situated near the river and about 15 minutes walk from Tintern Abbey. We had nice comfy rooms. The food was excellent, both breakfast and evening dinner. Most food seemed to be cooked on the premises, locally sourced and was delicious.
Lovely home, with nice touches such as fresh flowers cut from the garden, plenty of fluffy towels and toiletries. Lovely view from terrace and super gracious host who offered great advice for local walks and pubs.
Excellent stay in the beautiful village of Tintern. The hotel was well situated and had comfortable and unique rooms in what was a former farmhouse. The staff were excellent and the restaurant was superb.
Well presented, clean and tidy, comfortable with everything you need for a break. Great location for visiting Tintern, the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Plenty of places close by for food and drinks.
Excellent food - evening meal and breakfast
Room cosy, well appointed and very clean
Polite and attentive staff
Great pub/bar area - felt very welcoming
