We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The reception staff member was extremely pleasant and helpful. The leisure facilities were very good and clean.

It was quiet and we were on the ground floor.
The reception sold me a bottle of beer as the nearby Spar shop was closed

Exquisite historic building, unspoiled, needs some renovation. Staff kind and friendly. Beautiful old Derbyshire town with historic connections (The Sun was involved in the Pentrich Rising in 1817); D.H.Lawrence birthplace a short walk away. There is a lovely historic church tower. The town has great views over the Derbyshire countryside and easy access to the surrounding area. Other lovely buildings throughout the town. Brilliant frequent bus service into Nottingham, very speedy. I will return to explore further.

Cleanliness of the room, SPOTLESS! You would think it had just been renovated!
Considering it's a pub below, you wouldn't know.
Comfortable, big bed.
No shops nearby, but it didn't bother me as I had been walking all day, but had a car, so it wouldn't have been a problem to pop out if needed.
