The hotel was fantastic! From the moment we arrived we were treated by friendly staff. We were very looked after & made to feel at home. The hotel had so much history we really enjoyed it especially a tour of the rooms & cellar. The food was delicious. The room super clean but our favourite thing was how lovely the staff were!

Winchelsea Lodge, hotel in Peasmarsh

Designed as a traditional barn, The Lodge at Winchelsea is located between Rye and Hastings, 1.5 miles from Winchelsea Beach. It offers a bistro-style restaurant and modern bedrooms with free Wi-Fi.

Breakfast was perfect: cooked English b’fast and continental plus plenty of fruit and yogurt. Position of room was overlooking the courtyard surrounding a fountain and pond. There was seating with cushions where you could wait for your friends to join you. The hotel was just on the outskirts of Winchelsea so it was convenient for travel to different places. Plenty of parking. The staff were excellent, efficient and friendly. What more could you want!

Great location close to the A21, ideal for trips to the coast, especially Rye, Camber & Hastings. Also within half an hour of Battle Abbey. Several pubs in the village to choose from and a large supermarket to stock up on supplies.

It's near Rye and other places to visit. We walked from Rye to Camber. Beautiful. A lovely walk to Peasmarsh Church. We will definately be staying at The Great Escape again. A Jempsons superstore near too if just fancy sandwiches or snacks. Food great at The Oak which is joined to where we stayed

Peasmarsh itself is a quite charming place.

Peasmarsh itself is a quite charming place. It has a local market and petrol station/car wash. Pub and accomodation for visitors. We used Peasmarsh as a base for visiting places such as Rye which is a very charming town which reminded me of the good old days Camber Sands which has one of the best beaches you will find anywhere in the country. It is situated in a lovely part of the country. We stayed at the Great Escape which is a row of chalets with bedroom and shower room. A nice veranda with a small table and two chairs outside and in. In the grounds of a pub called The Oak. This is a smashing pub for really good food and drink at reasonable prices. The staff were always very welcoming ensuring we enjoyed our time there
