The breakfast was an excellent start to the day, the fresh fruit and yoghut was delicious and the full English was beautifully cooked, not greasy and very generous. Our room was large and had everything you could possibly need - the bed was also very large and very comfortable.
Really, this is one of the best places we have stayed in - 5 star quality and friendliness.

The location with a beautiful view of the church and just along the road from a friendly pub.
We enjoyed dining outside in the lovely little garden area.
Very stylish, well maintained and comfortable.
We appreciated the thoughtful gift of local bread , butter and eggs.

Beautiful, historic Cotswold village with good local facilities and plenty to do and visit in the area, especially when the weather permits walking and outdoor activities. Larger towns nearby (Stroud, Gloucester, Cheltenham) offer supermarkets and additional facilities.

Painswick is a very picturesque village with enough facilities for a short stay. There are limited places to eat but all were worth a visit. It is a good base for ramblers but not suitable for young children. There are camping sites nearby though which would be more child friendly.

A very peaceful Cotswolds village, Falcon Inn was a great place to eat, went there twice. A good place to start a Cotswolds Way walk. I only stayed for a hiking weekend with friends but could have definitely stayed longer - lots of things to see and do within an easy each (one does need a car though).

We ate at the Edgemoor Inn at Edge. The food was a good price and excellent with a varied range of food choices. Another time I would love to see the 200 Yew trees in the church yard, and the famous Rococco gardens.

Enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location.
Enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. We ate in the only three pubs/restaurants - St Michaels Bistro, The Falcon and The Oak and enjoyed the drinks and meals in all - all quite different. Village itself can be walked round very quickly - don't expect any shops to visit but lots of nice walks on offer.
We stayed in a few hotels during our stay in the Cotswolds and The Painswick was our favourite. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were quirky and clean! We loved having the radio and our view from our room was stunning (we stayed in Sladbrook). We had breakfast, an afternoon tea and dinner, all of which were absolutely delicious. We particularly enjoyed our afternoon the tea. Haven’t stopped thinking of the scotch egg!! The cocktails are delicious also, we tried love potion and rococo gardens - YUM!
The hut is in the most idyllic location looking over fields and hills it really felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. The hut was very comfortable, the bed was comfy and the duvet was so warm, when we put the fire on it kept the hut warm for a long time. We ate at the Woolpack pub and did the circular walk through Painswick which was a great long walk to fill the day, very much enjoyed coming back to the cosy hut after and sitting outside with a cup of tea!
Beautiful little cottage so close to Painswick Main Street (few mins walk).
The owners/staff were very helpful in advance and let us have early check-in whilst cleaning continued due to us attending a wedding and also catered for my dairy intolerance by providing oat milk!
The cottage was very clean, the bed was comfy and the heating was very good - the cottage became lovely and warm pretty quickly
after heating being turned on.
This quaint hotel tucked into the countryside had the most amazing views of the green hillside. The staff was delightful and amenities offered such as afternoon tea in bed made for a relaxing experience. The drinks and food were incredible! We loved the al Capone and Rosemary Collins! The truffle pudding and lamb among other meals here were delicious. Definitely would recommend and would love to return in the future!
We wanted a romantic stay for our honeymoon and Court House Manor exceeded our expectations. They even offered rose petals on the bed, which was a perfect addition. The room was excellent, bed was very comfortable, and the staff were wonderful. Painswick was a lovely town, and we enjoyed walking through some of the "public foot paths" in the area during our stay. You can't go wrong here!
The cottage was a perfect size for our 5 night stay.. it had all the comforts of home including Netflix & a washing machine !
And the location in Painswick just gorgeous. A quiet village with so much beauty & not too many tourists !!!
The church & its stunning topiary ! WoW !
Thanks Hannah for the lovely scones & delicious biscuits 😋 & our stay in your cottage 10/10
This is one of the most beautiful rooms we've stayed in. Breakfast, though billed as Continental is incredible. They've undersold themselves here - the quality and choice is astounding. Perfectly located in a beautiful village and near fantastic sites like the Painswick Gardens and Westonbirt Arboretum. We won't stay anywhere but here when we are next in the area.
The cottage is perfect! My wife walked in and said, "This is my English country vacation dream come true." Everything was beautiful, incredible views on both sides of the cottage....fantastic location in the Cotswolds. Extremely charming and cozy. We always had parking very close to or directly in front of the entrance. Great experience! Highly recommend!
Excellent stand-alone lodge, with beautiful views over the garden and Painswick valley. Living room and kitchen upstairs, whilst bedroom and bathroom are downstairs. We appreciated the fresh flowers and welcome treats on arrival. Welcoming and warm hosts with extensive experience of hosting visitors. Will recommend to friends and hope to visit again.
The location was great for getting to places such as Gloucester, Cheltenham and other locations across the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean etc.
The village is very quiet especially where the guest house is except for the neighbour across the road who sings in the evening.
The breakfasts were lovely
The shower was great
The host was very pleasant
Situated in the Centre of town, easy walking distance to local restaurants and beautiful ancient churchyard. The host was friendly and accommodating. The room light, airy and comfortable. Pretty courtyard between the front and rear buildings. Excellent breakfast…
We would definitely book again should we be travelling to that area…,
The facilities were fine. It was close to the Rococo Garden and near Slad, the Laurie Lee trail. Painswick is a beautiful village with an interesting Church. It is near Stroud Station by taxi.
Troy House is ideally located in the centre of Painswick. Denise was an excellent host, and makes a mean cooked breakfast! The room I stayed in was lovely, well appointed and clean.
Superb location, right in the centre of Painswick. Very clear, detailed and efficient communication from host. Gorgeously presented interior, beds and towels etc.
