Very pleased with our stay at The White Horse Hotel in Overstrand. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, we had dinner that evening which was very good; the restaurant was spotlessly clean and the staff were extremely efficient. After dinner we had a stroll around the village and thought what a peaceful and relaxing spot it is. In the morning we had a light breakfast as we didn't think we could manage the full English, which looked superb, but what we had was very good.
With a cliff-top location on the North Norfolk coast, this hotel has 4 acres of gardens and terraced lawns leading down to the foreshore

Free car parking on site. Level walk to shops and sea front. Very clean and tidy hotel and room and adequate size. Well decorated throughout and generally very well cared-for. In-house restaurant. Small hotel and personal service. Tea and coffee maker in room. Nice bath/shower. Comfortable bed with crisp cotton sheets and nice fluffy bath towels.

Overstrand is a nice little village next door to Cromer. It has a pub and a shop and a couple of cafés as well as a nice beach.
We have stayed in the pub before which was also nice and has a nice restaurant which caters for vegetarians.
It’s a nice place to stay.

Overstrand is a quiet coastal village with easy access to the beach and cliff walks. Dogs are welcome on the beach at either end of the promenade. The White Horse pub has an extensive menu and the food was excellent. Dogs are welcome too. The Cliff Top Cafe is a definite stop for owners and their dogs and they even have a special VIP (very important Pooch) entrance. The garden centre on the main road also welcomes dogs in their cafe. Nearby Cromer has a variety of dog friendly shops, cafes and restaurants. A visit to Cromer’s Doggie Diner is must!

It’s a very small but quaint village.
It’s a very small but quaint village. Good for visiting Norfolk but literally one shop, one pub, one hotel. Nothing on the beach except a cafe at the car park on the top of the cliff before dropping down to the beach via a steep path

Loved the location .
Loved the location .
Near Cromer.Had coastal walks , cafes , hotels which were excellent.
Very dog friendly.
Everything is spotlessly clean .
My only criticism is that some of the people in eg the local shop obviously don’t like tourists and were very unwelcoming.
We travelled from Scotland and did not think that our Scottish £10 and £20 notes were illegal tender.
As far as I was aware it was still all sterling snd therefore acceptable currency.
The unfriendly woman in the shop in no uncertain terms abruptly told me that she wouldn’t accept card payments or Scottish notes and I had to use the cash machine so I could purchase goods .
When a local person came into the shop it was as if she was a different person.
It wasn’t very nice being met with such hostility.
So my advice is to make sure you have English notes only and carry some cash !
Other locals were lovely and very welcoming!
The local hotel “the white horse “was excellent great service , good good , and friendly staff .not too expensive.
The Clifftop cafe ,again good food , lovely staff ,and excellent location .

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the White Horse, the staff were very pleasant , our room was comfortable and the choice of beer was very good, although we didn’t have an evening meal the breakfast was first class. The beach is only a short walk away but there’s also plenty of walking routes inland..Hoping to stay again in the future.
Lovely little apartment with private access and nice colours & furnishings. Although the kitchen was tiny & didnt have an oven or hob I found the microwave, toaster & my slow cooker more than adequate. There’s a very well stocked shop in the village and a few places to eat & drink at that you can easily walk to. Overstrand is such a lovely quiet village to stay in. The owners of this apartment were very friendly and welcoming.
Lovely location and very welcoming hosts. Cosy and warm despite torrential downpours one day I was there. Everything I needed was in the cabin and lots of other helpful items also there on my arrival. Easy to walk down to the beach and to walk in the other direction to the next village. There is a useful local store and places to eat in Overstrand but self-catering was my preference as everything needed was at hand in the cabin.
we enjoyed the peace of the hotel BUT when there was people there with children in the hotel i had a problem with lift as they were playing with it which made it impossible for me to use it as i am a disabled person that caused me a BIG problem as i am a wheelchair user this happened 4 times in one day i did tell a member of staff who said there was not a lot that could be done when there parents don't supervise the children
The bathroom badly requires updating as old fitments and tiles are not hygienic. It would be a simple improvement to hoover around open windows a wipe window sills. The pub element of the hotel doesn’t work as very noisy and hotel guests have to walk through the bar to exit hotel. No obvious reception area. A number of staff appear to hang around the bar area chatting and seem oblivious to hotel guests.
Lovely house in a quiet location with a secure garden ideal for my little dog. All the bedrooms were a good size and the lounge was very comfortable and spacious. Overstrand is a pretty coastal village with plenty of dog friendly places to eat.
All aspects of the stay was very nice and enjoyable ,staff were very helpful and polite i can say i had a nice experience in this hotel i will use again in the future without hesitating . Very dog friendly which was ideal for me .
The house was deceptively spacious, beautifully furnished, extremely well equipped, fantastic heating, spacious gardens with sea views and just a short walk from Overstrand. The owner also left a great welcome pack.
Lovely food, very clean and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. This was my second stay as the hotel is in a great location for exploring the local beaches/attractions.
