The Old Three Pigeons, hotel in Melverley

Situated in Nesscliffe, in a historic building, 39 km from Ironbridge Gorge, The Old Three Pigeons is an apartment with a garden and terrace.

The apartment was really spacious and had a feel of home from home. As it’s above a pub the floors weren’t straight but that added to the feel of the rooms.

Pear Tree Cottage, hotel in Melverley

Boasting inner courtyard views, Pear Tree Cottage offers accommodation with a patio, around 39 km from Ironbridge Gorge. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking.

Arriving in the village you are met by winding country roads, a bursting canopy of trees and the Inviting song of woodland birds. At the address there is parking sufficient for any regular vehicle which is off the road and accessible. Pear tree cottage is a lovely self contained room & bathroom annex to the main property where the owner lives. It is accessed via a cobbled court yard to the rear of the main cottage where there are a table and chairs for you to sit and enjoy a glass of wine whilst enjoying the peace and quiet. Inside the room there is a sofa, coffee table, small fridge, and the usual drink making facilities. There is a welcoming and comfortable double bed and ample sockets for charging your devices etc. Inside the fridge was complimentary water, yoghurt and oats. The bathroom was well equipped, clean and the shower a good temperature for both my wife and I. Overall, everything was clean and tidy, homely and not at all like the conglomerate experience at large hotels, little touches from the host were also lovely. Prior to arriving the host got in touch to offer useful information and offer themselves as a point of contact, they made us feel welcomed and at ease. We would highly recommend staying at Pear Tree Cottage and if travelling in the area again we would look forward to staying again!

A beautiful, fully equipped cottage right next to a river, which has fishing rights. To wake up to the sound of birds is lovely. A great place for countryside and river walks. Shropshire is a stunning county with plenty of tourist attractions within a 30 minute drive.

The place had a very bad flea infestation and we were severely bitten. The carpet was covered in dog hairs ,badly soiled and full of fleas and both beds had a number of fleas in them. I have photographic evidence of a lot of them running over my wife’s ankle and this was witnessed by Mrs. Bareham herself. Unfortunately we brought the fleas home with us and have to have our house fumigated I had to see my doctor who gave me antibiotics , hydrocortisone cream and anti histamine tablets.

A lovely village with friendly local’s on hand to point you in the right direction . Always had people stopping me chatting with the dog . Melverley can be approached from off the Main road , takes around 10 minutes however you are met by a private , gated entrance to the property which makes it secluded .
