The Harbour Inn, hotel in Isle of Whithorn

The Harbour Inn features a garden, restaurant, a bar and tennis court in Garlieston. The property is non-smoking and is set a few steps from Garlieston Beach.

The staff, food and accommodation were great. Our only adverse comment was that we were surprised that nobody tidied our room each day, so by the end of our 4 night stay our bins were overflowing and crockery had to be washed every time we used them - we haven't experienced this before in accommodation...

A charming village / harbour with lots of open countryside and coastal paths to explore along the Scottish coast. Ideal base to explore the most southern tip of this part of Scotland both by foot and car.

It is a part of Scotland that I had never visited before.

It is a part of Scotland that I had never visited before. The scenery is very beautiful and varied. St Ninian was so important to these isles. Whithorn is well worth a visit. Go to see the museum that has so many examples of the Celtic crosses. The Steamboat serves excellent food and locally brewed beers

Lovely scenic working harbour at the heart of the Isle.

Lovely scenic working harbour at the heart of the Isle. Fabulous clifftop walks around either side of the village with lots of wild flowers and wildlife to see. An excellent community cafe with delicious food and shop. The Steam Packet Inn for dining and having a drink is particularly good with lots of fresh fish options and locally brewed craft ale on tap. Lots of history to the village and a perfect place to spend a week, a few days or even a day visit.
