We found the breakfast to be plentiful and delicious with individual cafetières for strength preference.
The position of the hotel was advantageous as we were going to look at Hadrians Wall only a short drive away.

Very personable host. Very quiet. Good in room facilities. Breakfast included was delicious and fresh. Offered to do clothes washing. Away from the main roads but near to Haltwhistle.

This remote property up on the moors is on a working farm surrounded by endless moorland fields and sky. We loved the Granary. It’s small but has everything you might need tastefully decorated. The hot tub was a bonus although rainy weather meant I finally got in there at 7.30am on bank holiday Monday when the sun shone. It’s well located for visiting the Roman forts, Corbridge and walking along the wall.

Haltwhistle was a great location to access Hadrians wall and the Roman forts , we were there on May bank holiday Sunday and almost all the town was shut up except a couple of restaurants and a co op shop. On BH Monday there was one pub serving food and they had shut the kitchen by 7.15 pm having run out of food. I found the town deserted which was a shame. We ate in Jethros cafe on the Sunday night which was great , lovely food and waitresses , can recommend that cafe.

The town is marketed as being the geometric centre of Great Britain. It may well be. It is ideally situated a short drive from Hexham and roughly midway between Carlisle and Newcastle. It is a small town close to Hadrian's Wall and the associated ancient sites. Nightlife is limited as one might expect from a small town. Well worth a visit.

A pleasant and friendly small town ideally positioned to explore Hadrians Wall and a great place to base a walking, cycling and mountain biking holiday.
Additionally some great driving roads and little traffic.
Some good pubs locally or within a short drive or cycle.

We only spent one night but it is in a perfect spot for visiting Hadrian's Wall. It is near the best museum- Vindolanda and the best section of the wall (Cawfield Quarry) if you want to get a good taste of the Wall but only have a limited amount of time, like we did.

I was walking Hadrian's Wall so it was great that we had the pub on our doorstep for our evening meal and the property was so close to the Hadrian's Wall path. It was lovely being in such clean air in the heart of Northumberland National park.
Excellent location, 7 mins walk from Haltwhistle station. The Hadrian’s Wall Bus stops right outside the hotel. The room was cosy and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom toiletries included hair conditioner: a wonderful, unexpected bonus! The cooked breakfasts were delicious and very good value for money. Food in general was excellent: we had dinner here every day. The staff were warm and welcoming, and always ready to help, despite how crazy busy the restaurant was!
Beautiful Farm Stay with easy access to Hadrians Wall at Housesteads and many other areas of interest near Haltwhistle. This gorgeous farm stay was spotless, well equiped and welcoming. The hosts were very unassuming, obliging and they spoilt us with extra treats. It was a real treat to see the farm animals and go walking down country lanes. One of the best places we have stayed in the UK.
I thought we would be miles from anywhere but we were in a good location to explore Hadrian's Wall and well place to head north to Alnwick etc. The food was good and a great choice for breakfast that negated the need for lunch but we had it anyway. Parking was either directly outside the hotel or at the end of the road so not the issue we expected. Great value for money.
Easy to access via keypad on main entrance (on secondary door). Room was amply sized and with good facilities. Absolutely spotlessly clean, room and bathroom. Obviously being right in the centre of Haltwhistle you have all the amenities you expect (shops, pubs, takeaways etc.). It's priced very fairly, and we would recommend without hesitation.
This is a lovely family farm not too far from Haltwhistle and Hadrian's Wall. We had a big room with walk in shower. Breakfast was in the main house and it was really really good! The proprietor picked us up at the train and then showed us the walking paths to get back to town and up to Hadrian's wall. I would love to return to this amazing place.
Everything else. Amazing breakfast, friendly, comfortable, great location, quiet, good recommendations on things to do, working farm, few other rooms, excellent Covid precautions, lovely garden and tea house, good fishing nearby, walking path to Haltwhistle, friendly, good in-room facilities, views, whirlpool bathtub, and especially, friendly!
Perfect location near to Haltwhistle and all the Hadrians wall sites.Just off the main road by 200yds but still managed to be quiet and secluded. The owners were attentive but considerate also to our privacy and supplied us with the fabulous breakfasts, every choice you could possibly ask for. Wonderfully comfortable bed and quiet bedroom
This is a great little hotel. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. David is very knowledgeable of the area. Leigh made me feel like I was more than just another random guest. The food is fantastic. Really just a great little hotel. If I ever make it back to this side of the world again, definitely staying here again.
Very good range of cookware, well equiped kitchen, big soft towels, hot shower, cosy and clean cottage. Nice welcome card from owners and milk and sparkly in fridge.Lovely decor throughout. Pretty village location with view over allotments. Easy to get into Haltwhistle that has supermarkets, shops, cafes and a fab outdoor pool.
Great location, comfortable beds. Good shower. The garden is a nice place to sit in, if you're lucky with the weather like we were. Alan who looks after the three cottages was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Haltwhistle itself is the perfect location for visiting Hadrian's Wall, Vindolanda etc.
We are regular visitors to Haltwhistle (wife was born there and went to school in this building when it was the local primary school ). We have stayed at several hotels or B&Bs. This was by far the best and we’ll be staying again. Rooms very tastefully refurbished and excellent, inventive breakfast choices
What a lovely place - well appointed, spacious and adjoining a great pub. We were walking Hadrian's Wall and the location couldn't be better. The owners were very hospitable - even to the extent of offering to drive me back to Haltwhistle to retrieve my car! Highly recommend.
Lovely apartment, plenty of space, and all the equipment and facilities needed for a very comfortable stay. Perfect location, easy access to all the facilities of Haltwhistle, and very central for exploration of Hadrian’s Wall and the beautiful border towns and countryside.
One of the cleanest hotel rooms I have stayed in! Very cozy and comfortable bed. Easy check in with self service. The fresh milk in the fridge was a lovely touch for the tea and coffee. The bath towels were enormous and very fresh smelling too.
the hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Haltwhistle and is within walking distance to all the local amenities. the hotel was clean, the room was clean and had everything needed for your stay, the staff were all friendly and helpful.
Charming hosts, brilliant bothy, all needs were anticipated, and what a location!! Perfect for a solo traveler, near all the top Hadrian's Wall stops, and Haltwhistle a postcard pretty and walkable village. Full marks!
Lovely rural location but easy to get to facilities in Haltwhistle nearby, and a great base for exploring Hadrian's Wall. Cottage was very clean and comfortable, with a great view over the countryside.
