We visited Edinburgh and surrounding areas rather than Dalkeith and ate mainly in our hotel facilities apart from small lunches in town. We had visited Dalkeith previous and it is simple to visit attractions nearby but not all of them are our scene and the one visit previous did suffice, also we did not bring a car this time so Dalkeith and surrounding attractions weren't quite so viable whereas Edinburgh has many central attractions to walk to or by bus.ronald - 10Scored 10

Great place to stay, clean and comfortable. Bus service readily available running all day and late at night. Breakfast was very nice and the the staff were very helpful, accomidating and polite. We would highly recommend.

Contactless check in was quick and hassle free. Feels more like a private appartment with fridge and microwave. Bed was very comfortable. Shower room was large and very nice. Lots of places to eat and drink. We chose the local Dominos and ate in the room watching movie. Dalkeith country park 2 mins walk away. Good bus service into Edinburgh (45 mins)

I booked this for my disabled mum she was attending a family...
I booked this for my disabled mum she was attending a family funeral the staff was very accomodating she had a disabled access room it was comfortable and very spacious for her to get around with ease and plenty of room for her wheelchair it was like a home away from home.the hotel had a separate restaurant where you could book a table the food was amazing.

It was about a 15 minute drive to the hotel from the City and there was buses too. The Melville breakfast was excellent. We ate over the other pub and had the carvery which was great value and the other night we ate in Bonnyrigg which was only a five minute drive the restaurant was an Italian called Gigi which was very good, great service and great food. The Melville is easily reached by road from the A7 and loads of parking.LEEUnited Kingdom

Very quiet and peaceful surroundings, very easy to get around on the bus or rail to Edinburgh and the Royal Mile. Room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast were delightful and very filling and our host also provided advise to sights and attractions. Wish we could have stayed longer.
