Auld Cross Keys Inn, hotel in Chesters

Centrally located in Scottish Borders on A698 between Jedburgh and Hawick in the picuresque village of Denholm.

The breakfast was exceptional, with table service for the hot food. The evening menu is extensive with choice of Malaysian, Scottish and more traditional pub fare. The food was delicious and the service was quick even though they were full. The room was clean and comfortable and very quiet. There was plenty of storage space so even if you were staying for a week you'd be able to store everything comfortably.

The Capon Tree Town House, hotel in Chesters

Featuring free WiFi in public areas, The Capon Tree Town House offers accommodation in Jedburgh, 47 km from Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

Travelling alone, I felt really safe staying here. Even when I returned to the room after 10pm. The room was really clean and spacious and the bed was nice and comfy. I don't think I moved once during the night. It was really central and had plenty of parking on street and close by. Lots of lovely little shops close by too. I loved the breakfast in the room with the mini fridge. A great selection from cereal to cheese and pastries. Oh and the shower had great water pressure too.

    · We came up to the Scottish Borders for a Keilder observatory event and stayed in Chesters at The Steadings cottage for two nights with our 3 children 10, 2 and newborn. It was a beautiful, peaceful location. Huge garden to explore. Our children really enjoyed meeting the dogs, horse, sheep and chickens and we enjoyed relaxing in the sun loungers on the patio. Games room with pool, table tennis and darts. Big trampoline. Fresh eggs from the chickens on arrival. Ros the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommended for couples with young children. Kitchen excellently equipped, great travel cot

From start to finish we loved our stay at the steadings. Ros was extremely accommodating and really took good care of us. The cottage is beautiful and everything is of a high standard. Beds are very comfortable, lovely towels and each room smells gorgeous. I could have happily stayed longer. Even the hens were lovely and my son was very excited to give them a stroke.

Was at Chesters for a friend's wedding in nearby Hawick, didn't get to spend much time exploring or as many walks as we would have liked due to time constraints and the wedding, however a beautiful place and will definitely be back!
