Right on the busy Fosse Way but that didn't trouble us backpackers for our one -night stay walking the Monarch's Way (it's a couple of miles off the path, with other trails in front of the hotel). Lovely room, kind owners, historic interior with great food and an excellent breakfast (served). Chedworth Roman Villa just up the road. A very good location for exploring this part of the Cotswolds. We'll happily stay for longer next time.
The Wheatsheaf Inn is located in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside in the village of Northleach. This traditional inn is set in a lovely garden, and features a popular restaurant and a bar.

upon arrival the carpark had plenty of parking space near to the rooms and next to the pub for us to park. We were greeted with a smile and warm welcome, booked in quickly and able to put our bags in our room straight away.
The room was a good size, lovely comfy bed and well lit bathroom, plenty of hanging space for our clothes and a beautiful window seat next to the bed. Dressing table had a chair, so could sit and do hair/ make up in front of the mirror.
Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice off the menu and plenty of cereal and juice too.
Staff were very accommodating and quick to remedy an issue we had with closing a window. Really enjoyed our stay, going to book again but for longer this time.

Great food friendly staff, a lovely historical building , downside snall room, but badly let down by the bathroom needed a deep clean behind the toilet and the shower unit has black mould all round the sealant on the foot tray, not acceptable for the tarriff being charged.

Meals were good. Dog friendly. Grounds very nice.
Meals were good. Dog friendly. Grounds very nice. Rooms were awful. In need of redecoration. Dusty, cobwebs everywhere, chipped mugs, no useable showers, broken sash cord so couldn't open window, mouse droppings in one room. Hotel is on busy road and not in Chedworth. Circular walk in grounds totally overgrown. Booked for a superior double room but was no different to other rooms. Very overpriced. Wouldn't stay there again.

Lovely community mainly along twisting lanes.
Lovely community mainly along twisting lanes. Farm shop a gem. Great walks across lanes and fields mostly signposted including to historic sites. Peaceful. One main local historic pub - note that Sunday roasts only lunchtime not all day. Many pubs around accessible by car. Roads decent if narrow. Beware in late September the high number of pheasants wandering on some roads between villages.
