Satisfactory basics, the room was ok and the bed comfortable. Good location for visiting the area (the road through Callander) gets a lot of traffic! ) Room was quiet though.

Host went above and beyond for personal touches. I had mentioned we were there for my friend’s birthday and we went back out and came back to a wee tray with a card and 2 mini bottles of Prosecco and chocolates. My friend really appreciated that thought.

Nice, very safe, well kept, small town with good shops & restaurants, not far from Stirling. Although Roman Camp Hotel is very secluded, it’s actually on the Main Street, on the banks of the river Teith.

Callander is a lovely little town with plenty of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, take-aways and walks. The fisheries are beautiful, plenty of benches to sit at and walks around it.
I had a fish supper from the Frying Dutchman which was superb, and the second night ate at The Riverside Inn which was equally as delicious. All very good prices.
The wine shops are lovely and little gifts shops and plenty of cafes.
Set in lovely grounds, this traditional ex shooting lodge is a very comfortable place to choose to stay in Callendar. close to the Crags and Bracklinn Falls walks and easy to walk into Callendar it is also very peaceful as set back from the road. With good parking and a casual restaurant in the grounds as well as the more formal dining area, this hotel has good facilities. The cooked breakfast is a good choice and staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent choice for Callendar and would highly recommend.
Example of a small hotel very friendly and helpful staff, had been before for a night out in callander but first time we have stayed.Had dinner in hotel and have to say it was perfect pub grub ,big plates or smaller if you wanted . Have to give a special mention to the staff member Rebecca who served us that night, between waiting tables and serving behind the bar in what was a fairly busy bar for a Monday night she carried it off with a smile, take a bow Rebecca 🙇♀️. Definitely be back.
The Lodge House is a very comfortable, well maintained cottage with a large enclosed garden. It is well equipped with spacious rooms, modern furnishings, a large Smart TV, and fabulous walk-in shower. We were fortunate enough to enjoy good weather so spent time in the garden; its secure boundaries allowed our dog to wander freely without us being concerned.
We explored the local area of Callander, which has a good variety of shops and walking routes.
The cottage is great, it is clean, very well equipped and the location is very good. The host, Hilary is really kind and helpful. She has thought of everything to make your stay pleasant and nice. We have never had such a well equipped kitchen during holidays. You can walk directly from the house on nice paths and with a very short drive it is connected to great walks in the area.
Very Friendly and helpful Staff. Dinner was served in the bar area but, as its a sports bar type pub/hotel, my husband was delighted to be able to watch a football match while we ate. Curry was excellent. Breakfast was excellent, full Scottish and cooked just right. Room small but comfortable and we slept well. We would be happy stay again
The very warm welcome from the hosts and were very helpful with information on the surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect for walking the trails/hills around Callander. Nice local independent shops are worth a visit. Meals at The Crown Hotel were very good and reasonably priced.
Decent budget hotel in Callander. Friendly hosts. Really interesting hotel with interesting decor. I enjoyed looking around at all the pictures and decorations. We got the room in the turret and it was really spacious and had a nice view. Room was clean and the beds were adequate.
The hotel is in a very good location, just a 7 minute walk from the main bus stop in Callander and with the twin room placed quietly out the back.
Good decor, contained menu for breakfast and very helpful hosts.
Our beds were very comfy and the shared bathroom is very good - huge!
Great location in Scotland (about 5 hours from Skye, not far from M74). Good sized room with basic amenities, kettle, iron etc. Nice spacious modern bathroom. On road parking right outside the hotel. Biggest flat screen TV I've ever seen in a hotel room!
This place was absolutely beautiful and we definitely be back to stay. The bed was so comfy. The facilities were perfect. In a very peaceful and quiet area of Callander. Loads of nice walks and fishing. The main street wasn't to far a walk either.
Cooked breakfast at in-house cafe was good and filling, lots of veggie options. Family room was very spacious. Old hotel, a little tired but with character. Secondary glazing worked well to reduce traffic noise.
The ambience of the hotel was lovely as were the owners. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The location was super in the centre of Callander and the Whisky Bar was fab!
Perfect location on the edge of Callander surrounded by so many beautiful lochs. The food was fantastic and the owners were so welcoming and lovely. Will definitely be staying again!
