All the staff went above and beyond. We received great customer service. We loved staying at The Crown and Anchor and will definitely be back.
Our breakfast was delicious- lots of bacon in our pancakes, bacon and maple syrup stack. Great quality produce used. Our evening meal was delicious too. We would highly recommend the Cullen Skink Soup, the Scottish Wagu beef burger and chilli con carne. The room was spotless and tastefully decorated. Really comfy bed too. It was SO relaxing hearing the sea and the waves outside. Fab location.

Nice location right at the beach, just a very simple hotel room but it had everything you need and was clean. Parking is available around the hotel

The hotel is situated in a quiet area close to the town centre and about 1.5 miles from the train station. Entrance is via a very steep driveway or flight of steps, neither of which would be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Our room, Balchin's Den, had its own entrance at the side of the main building. It was spacious, comfortable and had been recently decorated in a modern style. Breakfast was served in a large dining room overlooking the front garden. There was a self service buffet offering a variety of cereals, fresh fruit and bread for making toast. The cooked breakfast had to be pre-ordered the evening before.

Depends what you want for a holiday. We like peace and quiet.
Burghead only has one shop and it is adequate. Hopeman, (2 miles away), has a nice chip shop and we could recommended it.
Propertyhad every cooking facility you would have at home, so no need to eat out unless you want to.
Plenty little places round and about to see and if you want bigger stores, Elgin is only 7 miles away.

Lovely old village with an extensive sandy beach, and massive forest, on its doorstep. Very dog friendly area and plenty of pooches about. Couple of shops and a Chinese takeaway in the village but Elgin easily accessible for mainstream stores etc. There is also a small restaurant but not visited.
