Absolutely beautiful property, the apartments were just perfect for our big family group for a local wedding. There is a lovely outside space for everyone to gather, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming! Each apartment had a selection of breakfast items which was a lovely touch. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience - thank you!

Lovely pretty cottage, good parking and easy access through a key safe. Lovely host with eggs, bread and milk delivered when we arrived and other breakfast choices already in cottage. Very helpful with recommendations for dinner and we had a lovely stay. Much better than staying in a hotel!

We were only in York for one night to spend 2 days sightseeing. This hotel location - right next to the train station —was perfect. We walked across the street from the station, checked in, dropped our luggage and headed to town on foot. Never needed a taxi. The room is small and plain but the public areas are generous and elegant. We had a lovely view of York Minster from our window.
Situated on the banks of the River Ouse, The Queens Hotel is ideally located for the many shops, restaurants and bars that the centre of York has to offer.

It's a dead and alive place - but great for exploring York using the Park and Ride facilities. In fairness we went in the middle of a pandemic, so lots of places are struggling. York itself is beautiful and as Samuel Johnson would have said if he'd thought about it: he who is tired of York, is tired of life.

A good local walk goes from Bilbrough over Ingrish Hill to Normans Farm and on to Askham Richard and Askham Bryan. Nearby is the monument of the site of the 1644 Civil War battle on Marston Moor, Long Marston.
Several pubs for eating in the vicinity include Bilbrough, Appleton Roebuck, and Askham Bryan and just for a drink or two, The Rose and Crown at Askham Richard, especially nice on a lovely sunny evening with outside tables.
Lovely churches include St. James, Bilbrough, St. Mary, Askham Richard and St. Nicholas at Askham Bryan.
The location was perfect. Bilbrough is a quiet, small hamlet of private dwellings with a pub and a church. Very easy access from A64 junction...approx 1 mile. Very peaceful and quiet. The food at the Three Hares pub was excellent, both in taste and value for money. The staff were also very friendly.
