Breakfast quality was okay, but badly let down by the method for getting tea/coffee , should have cups available at your table etc. also tea-pots/coffee pots.
The staff are great and do their best to keep it running smoothly !!.

Lochinver is a beautiful Victorian property with wonderful period features. A lovely drawing room was available to guests. You could sit in comfort and read or play board games. We stayed in the immaculate Kennedy room - very comfortable bed dressed in white, fine cotton. In addition to the usual teas etc a cafetiere was provided ( for ground coffee). Fresh milk was provided each day (if required) and there were some tasty biscuits. Breakfast was extensive and varied, catering for all, with vegan and gluten free options readily available. The weather was grim during our stay and a couple of times we availed ourselves of the "Ayshire Ashet" - a huge platter of gorgeous cheeses, cold cuts, olives, pickles etc. and a basket of breads and crackers. This was a fabulous supper on a miserable wet day ( together with a bottle of wine).
Sinclair was a wonderful host - knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. Don't miss out on visiting Culzean Castle and estate. Stunning! Sinclair was 'spot on' with his recommendations for restaurants. The Strathvaig and The Fox and Willow offered great food. These are very popular and it is best to book. The guest house is so close to the town centre ( 10 minutes easy walking) and there are loads of eateries, pubs and cafes to choose from.

The town is not what it once was, but as someone born and bred in Ayr I have nothing to dislike about it. Loads of good places to stay and to eat for all tastes and expenses. Very easy to navigate around the town by car, lots of buses at regular intervals. 3 great golf courses if that's your thing, loads of nice walks along the river, beach and if you find it Craigie Park (great for picnics).

Although there is a selection of the bars, restaurants and shops, the town centre is sadly lacking. Many, many empty shops. Full of charity shops, nail bars and vape shops. Ayr used to be one of my favourite places. Sadly, unfortunately those days are long gone.

Not an awful lot to do especially for young people but Culzean Castle and Dumfries House worth a visit. We also enjoyed the Burns museum. Glasgow easy drive away. Ayr and other beaches would be great in warmer months . Best dinner was at Kirkton Inn, Dalrymple and best lunch at The Coo Shed
The hotel was within walking distance to the beach. We managed to park right outside it. The owner was really lovely and gave us tips on where to eat that was dog friendly, as we have a dog. She also advised me on where to run, which I did. It was a lovely touch to have some cookies and the first hotel with hot chocolate in the room too after almost two weeks. The WiFi was also very good too. All in all a very nice stay indeed including a very large double bed too. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to book in Ayr.
Arrived exhausted as my husband is recovering from stroke and no one there to meet us or answer the door. On calling the two numbers the mobile got through to the woman who owned it she was in hospital and the other number was her husband who was in A berdeen and not expecting us . Proceeded to inform us they had a funeral and all the rooms were being used for family. So had to trek back to Ayr in scorching heat and search for a hotel to put us up . Not a good start for two pensioners and their grandson.
The B&B is extremely conveniently located at walking distance from Ayr Bus Station (the easiest way to reach this town, now that the train station is disrupted) and from the seaside.
The comfort of the bedding was a pleasant surprise: those mattress and pillows ensured many nights of excellent sleep.
Cleanliness at top level, shower and toilet with very nice complimentary products.
Delicious breakfast, very helpful and friendly staff.
We were impressed with the quality of the accommodation of this hotel. Our recently refurbished room was warm and comfortable with a large TV and the ensuite was very well appointed with a great rainfall shower.
Breakfast was served by friendly helpful staff and was very satisfying. The hotel is located near the beach and yet only a few minutes rom the shops and restaurants in Ayr. We will definitely stay here again.
The apartment is spacious with a lovely view. It's ideally located within easy reach of Ayr town centre and the beach.
There are two nice hotels nearby that are open to non-residents that serve good food and have a nice selection of drinks. There is also an Indian restaurant close by where we had a wonderful meal one evening.
The apartment has lovely grounds and is a true home from home.
Great location, very clean and comfortable accommodation with all the equipment you would need for a great stay. Very quiet with a lovely view over the river. 5 to 10 minute walk from the town centre. Was visiting relatives from Ayr as I come from there so didn't have time to visit the beach this trip, have been many times before though. Will stay a bit longer next time.
this property was close to the beach and town centre, Linda the owner and her staff are so welcoming and friendly nothing was a problem for them even called a couple of nights before to see if there was anything else we needed before our stay , Linda also arranged a taxi for us to take us to the function we were in ayr for will definitely use this hotel again .
The staff were very helpful and polite, the hotel was very clean and the location was very central, there is also a great pub called smiths right next door where you can watch the football and have a marvellous meal,we booked this hotel to go to Ayr races which was only a short taxi ride away,we will definitely book the mercury next time we go to Ayr 10/10.
Everything … the area is so handy for everything in Ayr. Our room was spacious and exceptionally clean. The attention to detail was surprising and surpassed many good hotels we have stayed in. Although we didn’t make use of the kitchen it was very well equipped and the wee garden area looked so welcoming.
The hotel is a bit quirky in the layout .However the place was spotless and the staff were excellent but the highlight was the food .The food was superb a great breakfast followed by a fantastic evening meal
I will certainly stay there when I am next in Ayr
Stunning apartment with excellent location in town centre and parking available. Spotlessly clean and Neil has thought of everything guests could need when furnishing his flat. We were all very comfy and cosy and just loved every minute of our stay.
Beautiful hotel. The staff were really friendly, happy for a chat and very accommodating. Our room was a great size for 2 nights. The breakfast was delicious and served to order. We enjoyed our stay here!
Hotel was beautiful and staff were exceptional. Food was also a stand out. We had breakfast and dinner, both were superb. We would definitely stay again, specially for future exploration of Ayr!
Beautiful hotel, courtyard room very spacious and spotless.
All staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was lovely great choice available.
Would def return if visiting Ayr
