The staff were very friendly & helpful & very good with our dog.
The dinner was delicious & the breakfast amazing with lots on the menu & a good choice.
The bar was lovely atmosphere & cosy. The young barman was really nice & had a great chat with us. Also the price was very reasonable for what you got, definitely go back when we're visiting York.

We were allowed to arrive early as we were going to the local vineyard for afternoon tea. We were greeted with a happy birthday banner on the cottage door and balloons inside. A lovely touch so thank you Gill for that. The cottage was well equipped with tea, coffee, milk etc. Even prosecco was there in an ice bucket waiting for us. Absolutely outstanding service and will come back with more friends.

This place is beautiful and anyone who hasn’t been I would highly recommend. From the friendly welcome text message to the extra touches in the room since we had just got married. The extra little things goes a long way and made our stay with our dogs exceptional and we will be rebooking. We even said if we hadn’t got married we would have looked at booking this for our wedding. Definitely booking again

Make sure you get a room with view over the grounds and not with a noisy kitchen fan a couple of feet away that wakes you up at night.
Had two diners booked but after first one cancelled and ate in York instead. We would have gone to a local pub but no food available locally on a Monday night.
Make sure facilities are open if staying in 2022 as new Spa being built and Golf course being extended to 18 holes.
Would work as a corporate away location

We were left completely disappointed with our stay at Aldwark. On arrival we struggled to find the car park as there were no lights. There was a lot of building work going on and no signage to the car park. We then had to take our small child and luggage through the dark to the hotel. When we arrived at reception the staff were abrupt and unhelpful. Telling us that the Kitchen and Spa were closed. We didn’t ask about these things or needed to know but we felt as though we were being told off.
The room was lovely, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The toiletries were very good quality and the bathroom was clean.
Breakfast was another let down. The waiter got our drinks wrong, twice and then gave us toast that was so burnt it was inedible. When we asked for more we received two pieces for three of us. We asked for further toast and it never arrived. The breakfast menu was very limited and most things require a supplement, which we were very disappointed to see when we’ve paid so much to stay. My daughter ordered pancakes which were so stale we couldn’t cut them! She gave up with breakfast and just had juice.
We were going to use the pool and facilities for a longer stay, but we decided just to go home as we all felt flat and disappointed.
On check out the staff were again rude and we just couldn’t wait to leave. A complete disappointment to what should have been a lovely treat.

Small village, with a very nice small church.
Small village, with a very nice small church. Lovely walk through the golf course and over the toll bridge. Very good pub, the Aldwark Arms, good food. The Aldwark Manor Hotel with spa and leisure facilities and golf course.
The luxurious nature of this Hotel gives a first great impressions. The bedroom are beautifully decorated and the bathrooms have been renovated to a very high standard. The swimming pool was also extremely pleasant and the garden are beautifully landscaped taking advantage of some really old and stunning trees.
I booked this as a gift for my parents, who had a wonderful stay.
They particularly rated the restaurant, where they ate both evenings.
The room looked beautiful and comfortable.
Thank you Aldwark Manor for making my parents very happy.
Exceptional hotel with efficient, friendly staff, superb food both for breakfast and dinner. Clearly money has been spent by the owners providing 5 star quality at a 4 star price.
Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. Excellent breakfasts and super comfortable beds. Another excellent stay at Aldwark and very much looking forward to our next visit.
