Foxhills Club & Resort, hotel in Addlestone

Foxhills Club & Resort Club & Resort is set within 400 acres of stunning Surrey countryside with Olympic-standard leisure facilities, elegant accommodation and three unique dining options, as well as...

The main building advertised is only for breakfast or dinner. The rooms are actually horse stables that have been converted into council estate look alike accommodation. It is very deceptive from the advert. The grounds are beautiful but the location of the rooms and staff attitude ( except for 1) was poor. Staff looked and talked about being over worked. It is not child friendly as they make ni effort to warm up baby food and staff was very unhelpful except for one who saved the day and prevented our 25 month baby from starving especially as he has special dietary requirements. Overall I won't recommend for families with young children for a stay. It is fine for a day visit but not for stay overs. The staff at the spa and swimming pools were good but the day restaurant ( I think its called 21 or so were so awful). You are better of going to a hotel.

We chose the property Addlestone because it was equidistant to the places we planned to visit - Chessington, Windsor and Legoland - during our 3 day/4 night stay. Addlestone itself offers all you could need in the way of supermarkets, restaurants and take-aways plus a station for easy access to London if required It has a super park (Victory Park) which the children enjoyed

Addlestone is not much of a place.

Addlestone is not much of a place. It has all the necessary facilities (breakfast in Tesco etc); the inhabitants are perfectly pleasant and my hotel, The Crouch Oak, though very basic, was exceptionally good value. All this made my brief stay satisfactory. However, there appears to be little, or nothing, of cultural interest or beauty here. No old quarter, as far as I could see, unlike most of these small Surrey towns. Maybe a longer stay and more investigation would have uncovered something, though I won't be booking my hols here.
