Lovely idea to convert containers into holiday cabins. Mattresses were still fairly new and therefore really comfy. Shower was hot and you can see how much hot water is left in the tank.

The town is small but adorable: a cery calm vibe. a lot of flowers everywhere, very nice restaurants, small local shops hidden on the way to the harbour, a lovely promenade along the sea. Because it's so small everything is walking distance. If you want to make your way to other cities and parts of the island, there's good connections via ship, bus and train.
The part of national park just around the corner is, in my opinion, way nicer than the upper part which is crowded and flooded with people. Of cause it depends on general vacations times but I was there in summer off holiday season and barely met anyone. All you hear and see is the ocean, birds and the wind in the trees - I find that hard to finda and I loved every second.

Nice town with good connection (trains, buses) to the rest of Rügen. The best location to reach National park Jasmund, famous chalk cliffs, boat trips to Arcona cape, etc. Sassnitz is a calm and relaxed place.

Sassnitz is a great place to relax.
Sassnitz is a great place to relax. You can make several nice trips a.o. to the national park and Konigsstuhl.
Going there by bus is easy. Some busses have a possibility to carry your bike with you. Of course you can also bike to Konigsstuhl but there are several steep hills starting from Hauptstrasse. Buy a special buscard in the bus. 9 euro and you can criss cross the isle for a month!

We went to Sassnitz for a long weekend with a teenager and a dog. The weather was unpredictable, the sea too cold for us to bathe, but we enjoyed immensely the nature and the old town: the sea, the beach, the Jasmund National Park, the Chalk Cliffs and the old town with its charming architecture both on sunny and slightly rainy days. A trip to nearby Binz proved to be a nice addition to the stay.

We were able to get around to many places ,eg restaurants,by walking and that was very good. The cruise-down to the King’s chair was most delightful.the restaurants we chose to eat at all served delicious food and had something for all of our different palates.

Nice place to stay, very calm, lovely town and natural parks. Rügen in general was a really nice surprise. Only downside was the food. Combination of infamous german taste with DDR execution is a really hard bite to swallow. The only thing the do good are all kinds of fischbrötchen and kebap. Avoid Schnitzel Hawaii.
As already written, there is nothing to complain about this accommodation. If I had to find something at all costs, then maybe the lack of sea views, however, the place is very quiet, away from the tourist traffic, and to the sea and the port it is 10 minutes walk. Right in the apartment there is everything prepared for your stay down to the smallest detail. You will find there all the equipment you may need. The apartment is modern and perfectly tidy. The hosts are very attentive and nice. 10 stars without any doubt.
We stayed at this hotel for a night during our round trip on the island. It's a pricewothy hotel in a convenient proximity to the port where the ferry arrives, as well as to the national park Jasmund. The interior is fresh and clean, the bed is very confortable (if you like firm beds) and the breakfast was great, with a lot of different choises. It's located close to the shore with beautiful surroudings. A good choice for your stay in Sassnitz.
We were heading back to Sweden after our holiday and wanted to visit the national park in Sassnitz. We stayed in this apartment for two days and it suited our needs. The location was really great to visit the national park. We were also very impressed with the cleanness of the apartment. Although the apartment is right on a busy street, the bedroom is facing the backyard so it was not noisy at all. Overall very nice for a short stay.
Our apartment - room 18- was excellent: large and airy with a view over the park across the road. The environment was exceptionally clean and orderly. Really wonderful hot shower with plenty of space to enjoy it. Breakfast was abundant and included a great selection of items. Was great to have very easy parking available at the hotel as parking is at a premium in Sassnitz.
A very beautiful place and hotel! The hotel is very close to the sea.
Pleasant walks along the sea. You can walk to the park, which is not so far away, where you can see amazing rocks and forest.
The room impressed with its cleanliness and practicality. We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks and did not notice any inconvenience, as we lived at home.
Ideally located in Sassnitz, with walking distance to the harbor, old town, and a bus station to take you to the UNESCO World Heritage forest, this place is a great choice for staying on Rügen. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and very good (home-made jams), and there are nice places to sit outside. The rooms are clean and roomy.
The views from the balcony are stunning and the location is one of the best in Sassnitz: close to the historic old city, the port, great restaurants and hiking trails. We got an upgrade after arrival and stayed in Villa Lindenhof although we had booked “Elisabeth”. The breakfast was good for the money with very friendly service.
The view was amazing, the location perfectly close to the city center (shopping, train station, bus station), to loads of very nice restaurant and even to a hotel with a sauna area you could visit as a guest - all within 5-10 minutes. It was still close enough to the national park to walk (20 minutes).
Arrived later in the evening but staff made sure I could check in. Hotel rooms overlook the harbor and water, phenomenal views. Hotel itself is located in an old quarter of Sassnitz, gives you a great feel for the "Badeplatz" culture. Breakfast had an opulent offering. Very friendly staff.
The room had a private sauna even though that wasn't mentioned by the hotel. I ordered a bouquet of roses for my wife and they were beautiful (all organized by the hotel). The balcony had a beach box seat and the view was amazing.
The Staphel hotel was closed for maintenance and we were asked to check in in another hotel, which quality was not as good as the one of Staphel. The rooms were small, not clean. Booking.com permitted to book a closed hotel!
The location is really close the promenade and the main station.
The hotel room was really clean and is a bit antique style.
The morning breakfast is nice but could be more options for vegetarians or vegan friendly people.
- Great view on Sassnitz harbour (for rooms with balcony)
- Qualitative breakfast
- Spacious room with comfortable beds
- Cherry on the cake => actually, the cakes given to guests in the afternoon (delicious!!)
Tiny table in the room, perfect to unpack the laptop, even in the small room. Even though hotel's parking spots were full (it was last minute booking), the staff give excellent directions where to park for free.
The breakfasts were TOP CLASS! Lots of variety for all tastes! Thank you for that - & the wonderful, sea-view breakfast room, on the 9th floor of the hotel, from which to enjoy those breakfasts!
Beautiful view of the Baltic Sea, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food in the restaurant located in hotel and exceptionally clean space. Would definitely stay here again!
