Beautiful home close to the local store, the ocean and nestled in a quiet community. Clyde gave us moose burgers and 2 crabs. Great value. Too bad the weather was rain and fog. Check out cape Norman... It was worth the trip.

Valhalla near L'Anse aux Meadows, hotel in Raleigh

Set in L'Anse aux Meadows in the Newfoundland and Labrador region, Valhalla near L'Anse aux Meadows offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The property has inner courtyard...

We stayed in the Snorri, it was fully stocked and very clean. Bed was comfortable as well. View of the ocean....unfortunately for us it was so foggy we couldn't see 5 feet. Although at one point the fog lifted a little and there was a huge iceburg on the Ocean we could see from the balcony. But as soon as it lifted it was back again, can't help the weather though.

Haven Inn, hotel in Raleigh

Located in the heart of St. Anthony just 2 km from Grenfell Historic Properties Museum, this inn offers free WiFi. A cable TV is included in each room.

The property is pet friendly, so my hound and I were made to feel very welcome. Also, every single member of staff we met was friendly and helpful. Two thumbs up! The staff are Haven Inn's greatest asset. The WiFi was also very reliable, and there were enough TV channels to keep me occupied during the evenings.

The village is small and great for beach combing or storm watching. It is within 27km of St. Anthony and abort 20km from L'anse aux Meadows. The roads are rough, the potholes are deep enough to damage low riders.

I was on the ground floor and people upstairs just walking about it was quite noisey , but other than that it was excellent. Favourite places - the Viking Digs and a boat tour, saw whales Favourite place to eat The Norseman (you should have a reservation). Raleigh was easy to get around and central to pretty much everything.

The views. Reality of local culture. And the people.

The views. Reality of local culture. And the people. They were the best!! The scenery was stunning and the tundra was surreal. Would have loved to spend more time exploring. We saw caribou fairly close by. Great photographic opportunities.

Very pretty area of the Province.

Very pretty area of the Province. We drove there from Rocky Harbour and visited many communities along the way. L’anse aux Meadows and St. Anthony had a lot to see and do, icebergs, whales, moose. The weather even cooperated.

Great moose burgers down the road, wonderful location - close to Viking site, Grenfell experience, and good hiking! Plus, Taylor's carving shop - beautiful figures from stone, antler and bones. Plus, you are close to a variety of good hikes! An all around excellent choice of place!
