The apartment was really nice and fresh, with good heating system and some appliances such as coffee maker and water kettle with tea bags. Bed was comfy, location very good at a 10 min walk to the train station, and about same distance to the city centre. Good breakfast with possibility to also make yourself a lunch bag if needed. Friendly and helpful hosts.

Chose this hotel as it was 5 minutes away from where we needed to be. It did what we needed, gave us a place to sleep. Staff were friendly. Free teas and coffees at reception and you could take them up to your room which was handy.

Mechelen has beautiful old churches, abbeys and other historical buildings and a few museums that are worth a visit. The cultural centre offered a beautiful photo exhibition 'We are Europe' and we had the luck to see a locally arranged fashion show on the city square.
The toy museum has a beautiful collection of old dolls and dollhouses as well as all kind of mechanical toys. The building is pretty outdated, but they are going to move the museum in a few months time.

A smallish town in central Belgium with a rich history.
A smallish town in central Belgium with a rich history. All the accommodations, historical sites and cultural access, shopping options of a much larger town without being overrun by tourists.
Highly recommend for booklovers and history nerds.

Surprisingly great visit - a walkable and bikeable city full of architecture and history, with lovely squares and cafes/restaurants. Definitely visit the brewery Het Anker and the Beguinage (small area within the city full of beautiful old streets and an interesting info as you walk around).

Mechelen is a nice city to explore, many options for children and cosy & good quality food options. Architecture and museums also.
I would love to be back when the weather is warmer. The coffee places and bars are quite inviting for a more outdoorsy day.
Really enjoyed trip.Attractive city..lovely architecture ,brilliant variety of shops. Some attractions shut, not a lot of parks or green areas.Cobbles everywhere, bring comfortable trainers!Brilliant eateries if you drink beer…very limited wine choices. Not a lot of variety of restaurants.Lovely wide streets with attractive water features and trees.Problem understanding menus as no English versions at all!

The town is lovely, picturesque and idilic
Food was amazing, local beers were a plenty
really nice to just walk around the town and take in the sights, have a drink by the river and watch the world go by!
For a small hotel it was a good breakfast. We was given some fruits, and some bread to make a box for the rest of the day. Personal service, asked if we wanted tea or coffee, and eggs/omelet.
The room was very big and in my case I had a nice view of the theater.
The parking situation is not that good in Mechelen but there is a parking house (Bruul) nearby. After asking the hotel they also suggest a nearby parking house (500 meter) which had free weekend parking.
Location of the hotel was perfect - we travel with low CO2, by train and on foot - and walking form the station to the hotel, mostly by the river pedestrian path was great! The welcome and the service was excellent, including a small gift for our son. The room was perfect for our needs, also very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was varied and we appreciated that over the weekend it is extended until 11.00n allowing us to indulge into sleeping later.
It was a modern hotel, located in the city centre. Good as the start of walking around Mechelen. Bed was comfortable, room was good & clean. The hassle-free check-in and check-out was a first for me and I am very pleased about it. Staff were nice and welcoming.
It is close to the train station Mechelen Nekkerspoel, but a walk of 20-25 minutes from the main train station of Mechelen.
Genuine & friendly environment. The owners are devoted to their hotel guests. Cheerful and welcoming too. Their restaurant evening meal was pleasantly presented, homemade and delicious. Also the hotel is convenient located to the railway station, taxi and city center. A really good experience all round.
Room exceptionally comfortable, great size, clean, very well equipped. It was ideal for us as couple with one young child. Everything was working well in the room and we haven't had a problem with anything. The hotel and its neighborhood was very quiet
The room was great and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was also nice with lots of choices. I think the hotel will be amazing once the renovations will be over, I am pretty sure the view from the chamber we got will be wonderful.

What's not to like? Stay for 2 nights in one of Belgium's leading breweries. Bonus, Room 23 is adjacent the malting & tank area so the room smelt strongly of malt. Excellent restaurant on site. This is the second time we've stayed.
The hosts were really friendly and welcomed us on arrival. The room was modern, spacious and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was outstanding too. We definitely recommend this charming hotel!
