Thoroughly enjoyed hitting bikes and doing the Riesling Trial and had a wonder lunch at Slate restaurant and at O’Leary Walker winery.
Visiting Crabtree winery and having a bottle of Riesling with the group with a wonderful view was magic. The service at Crabtree was exceptional and I love my glass cloth!

Clare is less touristy than Barrossa and all wineries are very close to each other. Rent a bike and cycle down the Reisling Trail is a great way to explore the area and have wine-tasting along the trail.

Clare Valley is different Australia - countryside, but a lot of houses and villages with relatively short distences, in many ways like Central Europe. Most of the Australia is open fields or forest for long distances.
Main attraction is of course the wineries. Bungaree Station (a historical sheep farm) is worth of visiting just 10-15km north from Clare. Martindal Hall is amazing - a grandious manor house build in English rich gentry style by a sheep farmer (he imprted architect and 50 builders from London to built it in 2 years in 1880s). Old no more used railway track has been converted as bicycle (or walking) track - over 30 km and covers full lenght of the Clare Valley.

Just wished the hotel was a bit cleaner cobweb I. Room and the second day we got no fresh towel and they did not clean the room properly bed was it even made
The location among the rolling hills and vineyards of the Clare valley. The access to the walking trails. The privacy and quietness. The excellent comfort and facilities provided. The little extras that the hosts supplied and the attention to detail which far exceeded our expectations such as breakfast provisions, cheeseboard, wine, milk, juices, jams along with excellent cooking utensils. What a superbly presented property and could not fault. Will look forward to a return visit.
Clarevale cottage is located in heart of Clare with easy access to Clare Valley's attractions. The cottage was very comfortable and is well setup up for longer stays. It has pleasant views onto the back garden. There is a full kitchen and breakfast provisions are included. You will feel welcome with the homely touches including good internet, Netflix, books, kitchen utensils, a night light in the bathroom and a first aid box.
Location was incredible, so close to the main road, but there is enough distance & greenery that you don't really see or hear it.
Spa bath was amazing!
We loved the breakfast provisions - pretty much everything we could ask for. Kitchen also had everything you could need to cook full meals.
Information brochures were great too, as this was a last minute trip - they were perfect for helping us plan our time in Clare.
Location was in the town of Clare which suited us. Our accommodation was seperate to the main house, very comfortable and we could sit on the back veranda and enjoy the garden. Communication with the owners was very good. The Clare Riesling Trail was close by, which we really enjoyed as it is a dedicated cycle way and very well maintained. Hired our bikes from around the corner at Scoot the Valley.
St Helens @ Clare presents well & is handy to main centre & wineries, breweries & town cafes & dining venues. We stayed in one bedroom cottage, warm & cosy with nice view & outlook. There are larger options as there are four buildings on site to choose from. We met owner & she was helpful & friendly. Lots of little extras in cottage, much appreciated. Great place to stay.
We stayed here nearly 20 years ago, so thought it would be nice to stay again. We were not disappointed. Clare Valley Heritage Retreat is a lovely place to stay, and the bacon provided for breakfast was so delicious. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing visit to Clare. Close to the Main St, restaurants and the bike hire for the riesling tour.
Had a great long weekend at the Clare Country Club for a girls winery weekend away.
Rooms were adjoining which was excellent, they were spacious, new & clean with a big bath tub in each room. The apartment had a full size fridge and a stove top.
Breakfast was good, shower pressure was good, beds comfy, different pillow options. Parking was ample.
Host Erica was friendly and provided great communication through out, even allowing us to check-in from 12pm on arrival.
Great location in Clare, quiet and peaceful, and within 5 minutes of town.
Interior Fireplace and reverse cycle aircon provided warmth and ambience.
We were in Clare cabin (unit 4).
We had an amazing stay at Frogmouth Hollow. Highly recommend. Extremely clean, quiet, comfortable, and very generously provisioned! Brilliant location right on the Riesling Trail. Loved our chats with Gav and Iris and pats with their dog! Loved Clare Valley. Wonderful :-)
Breakfast was super generous and yummy. The location and view was amazing, even better than expected! Oh and the winery, was a standout in the Clare, and we visited a few so could make a good comparison. It's a must to have lunch there too.
A great spot in Clare. Very economical, comfortable, cosy room. It's an "old style" motel type room in the pub. The room itself had been renovated, bed was very comfy & we had all we needed. We enjoyed the Clare Valley immensely.
