Cardwell at the Beach, hotel in Cardwell

Set in Cardwell, 900 metres from Cardwell Rainforest and Reef Visitor Information Centre, Cardwell at the Beach features a year-round outdoor pool and views of the mountains.

The unit was clean and well appointed. It has a " Friendly Grocer" over the road. It's a shame there prices aren't friendly . The xxxx pub down the end of town offers good value for money. Cardwell as a destination is a very relaxing 😎 alternative to either Cairns or Townsville

Vista Hinchinbrook, hotel in Cardwell

Located in Cardwell, Vista Hinchinbrook provides accommodation with seating area. There is a private entrance at the aparthotel for the convenience of those who stay.

This is a brilliant location hosted by exceptional hosts in Trish and Ian. The continental breakfast was great, the views off the deck are remarkable and the accommodation comfortable and well appointed. I intend to return as it is a great location to base yourself (assumimg you have a car) if you want to spend a few days exploring the Ingham/Cardwell area and its hinterland. [And on that subject, between Wallaman Falls, Hinchinbrook Island, the driving circuits round Cardwell, the Mt Fox region and Ingham and its agricultural hinterland, this is a relatively under-appreciated area of the Qld coast].

Cardwell is made for adventure lovers. You can do bushwalks like Attie Creek Falls, hike the Dalrymple Gap track, swim in the Cardwell Spa pool and at Five Mile Creek.Talk to the staff at the visitors centre as they are really helpful and you can see the museum at the same time.Murray Falls was well worth a drive north and you can also do a 1.8km walk to a lookout at the top of the falls.Don't forget the Hinchinbrook Channel Lookout at the start of the Cardwell Forest Drive.

Having travelled through Cardwell a number of times between Cairns and Townsville, it was great to stop for a few nights on either end of a car trip between the two once more. The restaurant at Beachcombers was lovely. Totally recommend the kangaroo entree. Went for walks in the morning along the Esplanade and up further to the river. Was able to get an easy 8km in. Close to walks and the Cardwell spas which I hadn't stopped at despite living here three years. Highly recommend a good few days to explore Cardwell and surrounds.

There is nothing to do unless you have a boat and want to go fishing, beware the crocs. There are plenty of nature activities, like visiting close by falls and creeks. A very beautiful area either side of Cardwell. Limited shops and places to eat.

Noisy, Not Luxury and NOT value for money at $185

Noisy, Not Luxury and NOT value for money at $185 This is not a unit it is a bedroom attached to the restaurant with an adjoining door (privacy issues) which open very early. The walls are not soundproof so we were woken by music and showers at 5:45.AM. The room was very hot as the air conditioner was inadequate. There was NO hairdryer, bottled water, soap and the shampoo & conditioner were family size (unhygienic) The continental breakfast was corn flakes, canned fruit and sliced bread again with family sized vegemite, honey etc. After our very early morning wake up we were handing out for a cappuccino but no coffee machine given this was a restaurant very unexpected, decaf was Nescafe instant. Definitely not good value at $185, we likened this accommodation to a $99 motel !! The location of the self-contained units was good but the location of the room was terrible, no view and very noisy

Beautiful small town with a great foreshore area and amazing views to Hinchinbrook island. Make sure that you go to the lookouts. The highway runs through the town but the positive side of this is that there are more eating out options.

Cardwell is a lovely place, but this hotel let us down, when I contacted the hotel they advised they knew the room was dirty but offered at our next stay (never going to happen) we would get a professional cleaned room and a discount because of the horrid situation we had endured. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone especially at the cost of it.

We had a lovely stay at Cardwell. The room was clean, well presented and comfortable. As soon as we arrived we felt welcome. The restaurant/bar was so amazing - we loved the menu and had the most delicious barramundi. The bar and the music was sensational adding to the vibrant environment. The staff were exceptional, they went beyond to ensure we had the best time and stay. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much :)

The Cardwell Beachfront Motel is a great location. Michelle was so kind & accommodating my evening check in. She extended warm hospitality with Great recommendations for restaurants. My room was impeccably clean! It had comfortable bed and pillows. I love that I could hear the ocean from my room! It was a delight! This location has a fantastic walk way next to the beach to enjoy a sunrise walk!

Lee and his wife were so lovely and went out of their way to help us out on our travels. Picked us up from the bus station and drove us to the hotel and then got up early to drive us to the Hinchinbrook Port so we could make our boat trip by 7.00am. We had such a lovely stay and will definitely stay here again!

There was no Cassowary Resort, booked online, $150 was debited from our account, Cardwell Police advised no such place, address is a Butterfly Farm, our stress level, time wasted, we should be compensated for gross inconvenience experienced at a latter part of the afternoon.

I was able to have the food I ordered from the restaurant, delivered to my room, on a very rainy night. The restaurant is on site but not owned/managed by Cardwell beachcomber. So kind of the staff to do that.
