A variety of cafés and restaurants are within 5 minutes’ walk of the property. A shuttle service and laundry facilities are also available and charges apply. We didn't pay too much attention when booking this accommodation, as we just wanted a place to rest for a night after the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and before driving to Wellington. What a lovely surprise this place was! I absolutely loved staying here - spacious and clean rooms, a comfortable bed and a covered terrace in front of the apartment. Even though we didn't get to use the kitchen, it was supplied with pretty much all apliences one would need. Some details I appreciated and haven't seen before were the parking spots next to every apartment and the Netflix account the apartment had for guests. The gardens were pretty and well kept. However, I have to admit that what helped tremendously with my experience at the Creel Lodge hotel was the beautiful and incredibly friendly cat that decided to make us his friends and waited for us to wake up the next morning in front of our door.

White Heron Motor Lodge is just 2 minutes' drive from the centre of Gisborne and 7 minutes' drive from the beach and the airport. The property offers a range of accommodation types, all with access to unlimited free WiFi. Management was super helpful in providing suggestions for restaurants, shopping, etc.

The property has lake and city views, and is 38 km from Orakei Korako - The Hidden Valley. The bed and breakfast features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Staying at Lake Vista Lodge was amazing! The owners were so friendly and being able to talk to them in person made everything so convenient. The accommodations were just a short walk away from Lake Taupo, and the views and landscapes were absolutely stunning.

Boasting sea views, Waiotahi Valley Lodge provides accommodation with a spa and wellness centre, a garden and a terrace, around 33 km from Miranda Hot Springs. This bed and breakfast features free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. The bed and breakfast has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. This was one of our favourite places in our month-long trip in NZ. It had an amazing location, with huge beautiful gardens and lovely views. It was located uphill (which was a bit of a challenge for our small car, but once up, we didn't want to leave). We were upgraded to a lovely double room which opened up to the garden. The shared spaces were excellent, such as the well-kitted kitchen, outside sitting areas, and the large bathroom. The hot tub and breakfast were a great bonus too! Our hosts were very nice, friendly and chatty and we would certainly recommend staying here!

Popular points of interest near the lodge include Long Beach, Christ church and Russell Museum. The nearest airport is Bay of Islands, 36 km from Arcadia Lodge Russell, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Hosts were amazing, informative and really very helpful and absolutely ensured you got the very best from your stay; breakfasts excellent sitting on the terrace with stunning views and completely home made foods and the whole property is made over for the enjoyment of guests. It is a home from home and full of its own history with classic furniture.

Set in Ahipara, Gems Seaside Lodge offers accommodation with seating area. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the barbecue, or enjoy views of the sea and garden. Gems is a wonderful location that is rig by at the start of 90 mile beach. The beach is expansive and the appearance of wild horses made it special. Accommodations are very comfortable for an overnight stay or longer. A great location in Ahipara!

The nearest airport is Whangarei Airport, 66 km from Chalet Cullen, . Even though we only had a single overnight stay at Chalet Cullen, we must say it’s on our top ten experiences of what we have had during our 6 weeks vacation in New Zealand. The unit was fine and cozy, and with a great view to the beach. The local radio station (FM 90.4) plays pop/rock from the good old days. What’s not to like. We can only give our best recommendations.
