Amazing view of the lake, safe (albeit lively - bring ear plugs) neighborhood, very well equipped apartment with fully stocked kitchen (even had oil and salt), extremely clean and comfortable bed and mattresses, very convenient location that was walking distance to the piers, restaurants, and tour agencies/hotels that you can book activities with. The host was very kind and polite, and recommended very well priced food, transportation and tour options. The host was also accommodating in allowing the guest to leave luggage in the apartment before and after check in and check out times.

Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. - The place is a bit further (yet still within walking distance) from the main touristy area. This makes it much calmer and less noisy - The weekend /weekday markets are across the street. You got a bit of an additional authenticity through those (plus you can easily buy delicious fruits) - The owner was extremely helpful with answering all of our questions about the place, the neighborhood and the town - We were also allowed to check out in the afternoon which was a huge help for us (by not having to spend hours in the summer heat while waiting for our shuttle)

The property is non-smoking and is situated 26 km from Volcano Atitlan. We could not have had a better experience staying here. Domingo the host was the most accommodating, offering help any way he could and really elevated our 5 day stay. The house itself was in a perfect location: close to all the main in in San Juan la Laguna, while remaining just off the beaten path. The house and rooms were plentiful and spacious, and the rooftop terrace out of this world. We were 7 people and felt like we had more than enough space. We had so much fun staying here and would stay here again in a heart beat. San Juan La Laguna is a beautiful town with real heart surrounded by gorgeous mountains and inhabited by generous, interesting people. If you are thinking of coming to Lake Atitlan, I could not recommend enough staying in San Juan enough. And Casa Elenita only exceeded any expectation we had.

Very friendly staff, picked me up from the centre of San Juan by quad and showed the town, and helped me join a worthwile Indian Nose sunset tour. As the place is quite new some facilities are still being built but the experience is 100% worth it. Very close to the town for all amenities (5 minute walk). I trust Gerson, his wife and the owner to make this one of the most memorable spots in Guatemala, beautifully nested between the farms and with great ways to enjoy the lake.
