The outside spa area is this hotels jewel in the Crown, with great views of the castle and mountains in the distance. we experienced it on a Sunny Day so were able to lounge in the Sun and pop in and out of jacuzzi and swimming pool. In poor weather this is going to be a very different experience.
Hotel Weinbauer is a traditional hotel peacefully and central located in Schwangau, 1.5 km from Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles. Built in 1865, the cosy hotel is decorated with frescoes.

The location is excellent—within cycling distance to Neuschwanstein Castle, and there are several restaurants (Italian, Asian) within walking distance.
Breakfast was delightful. The beautifully decorated hall and the hostess in traditional Bavarian clothing provided a charming morning experience.
The highlight was the spa. It’s a wonderful treat after a long walk through the scenic Bavarian village!
Situated beside the spa gardens in Schwangau, a 5-minute drive from Füssen, this family-run hotel is ideal for visiting the region’s famous castles. Free rental bikes are provided.

Everything was quite nice and cozy. It's a spacious place, near a bus stop to the castles, and I was offered a free ticket by the hosts. It had all the facilities listed, and coffee was avaliable. There's a parking spot and a supermarket close.
Located in Schwangau and only 2.6 km from Museum of Füssen, Gästehaus Apollo provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

We stayed in Füssen for one night.
We stayed in Füssen for one night.
We spent the next day visiting the castle. There were a lot of tourists, and the tickets for the castle were booked out.
We came to show the kids, but probably wouldn’t have gone to the top if it was just my husband and I.
Lots of overpriced gift shops, and very much geared for tourism…

Beautiful hiking trails.
Beautiful hiking trails. You can walk to town and Neuschwanstein if you are in good shape. Much better than trying to find parking. Beautiful views. I would recommend going late in the evening as there is not that many tourists.

Neuschwanstein is without a doubt one of the most beautiful castles in the world. We stayed for a day to visit both castles, but wished we had stayed longer to see more of the nature around it as well.

It's in a fantastic location and is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a lot to see, not least the castles built by King Ludwig. There are also many lovely walks to take and it's ideal for cycling, as there are lots of cycle tracks. There are lots of superb hotels to chose from, all in good locations and plenty of good restaurants and cafes. The mountains around are beautiful, and one of them has a Tegelbahn (cable car) at the top of which is a very good restaurant and a place for people to hang glide down to the valley below. There are also lots of walks up there with amazing views. Schwangau is close to the town of Fussen, which is well worth a visit and is at the border with Austria. There is also a lake, Forggensee, where there are regular boat trips.

Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking.
Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking. Gorgeous scenery. We enjoyed a walk to the lake in the evening at the sunset. Getting around Schwangau is easy both by car and by public transport.
The hotel manager was nice, he made sure I knew all the times for breakfast and dinner. The hotel room was clean, and my room had a balcony that had a wonderful view of the mountains. They have a parking lot as well if you drive in. Everything in town is about a 10 minute journey in every direction whether it’s downtown to restaurants, to the castles, or the lakes. Overall I thought of it more as a bed and breakfast, vibe wise, a really peaceful place in the mountains.
Very cute, Bavarian-style hotel right in the middle of Schwangau. Walk (or very short drive) to castles and sights (Neuschwanstein; Hohenschwangau, Wittlesbach Museum) and Alps. Despite its traditional Alpine decor, it had the modern conveniences. Hotel staff was very friendly. Able to walk to some restaurants. I recommend easy hikes/walks around the Forggensee lake in Schwangau and around the Alpsee lake next to Hohenschwangau, both with well marked trails.
I really enjoyed staying here. The rooms are very clean and cozy, making me feel like at home! The location is really good, you can walk to the castle or the old town in 20 mins. There is also a bus stop nearby, you can take free bus with your guest card. Artur is really kind, he picked us up at the Füssen station. He introduced the facilities in great details and recommended us good restaurants. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends.
It was awesome. Really liked the apartment and the furnishings+kitchenette.
The best part was the nice host who keenly met us and gave us the key as well as a Ice Sledge for our son. Which was a total surprise for our son. The House was clean and had everything to make you feel like at home.
Definitely booking this place again when we plan to come back to Füssen/Schwangau.
The hotel is situated in a quiet village which is very close to nearby castle attractions and there are many places to go for a walk or by bicycle. The hotel staff were very nice, breakfast was good and the stay was a pleasant one.
We also greatly appreciated the fact that the hotel also offered gluten free bread and snack upon request during breakfast.
Loved this place. Upon our arrival, we were greeted in the lobby and offered a glass of prosecco. This is an upscale hotel that pays attention to the details. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. The spa area, included for hotel guests, was expansive and well equipped. And if this isn't enough, you look out at the castle
The hosts are really nice!!! When we were at the Füssen train station late at night and we couldn’t get a cab. We called them to ask for help and they gave a free ride from the station to the hotel. The breakfast was nice and they offer really good help with touring around. The room is cozy and really quiet.

It is in close proximity to castles and public transport. There were lot of options for breakfast, the best part of this hotel is the surrounding, the lawn, plants, rabbits, veggies, fruit plants, table tennis, kids play area.
Bonus - Night view of the Neu Schwanstein castle from balcony.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is very near to the two castles and you could walk if you are reasonably fit. Breakfast good and free coffee and cake in the afternoon. Rooms spacious. Nice walk into Fussen, better than parking there.
The property is better than the photos show.
Great hotel. The location was absolutely perfect, just 1km to the castles (I even went back from them walking once). The breakfast was great and the rooms were big and comfy. The parking was also great, the same level as the rooms.
Wellness centre was a great bonus, balcony off room, breakfast was good. Great places to eat nearby. Very close to.the castles. Great lounge area where you could sit and chat to friends outside of the room.
This is a small, pleasant hotel with great opportunities for hiking and just wandering. The breakfast is very good and plenty of dining options within an easy walking distance.
